About this deal

I wish there was a little more breathability for warm-weather runs and could use a better heel lockdown, but I enjoyed running in this shoe and would highly recommend it for zero-drop runners or those looking for a responsive ride with a wide forefoot to quickly take on their daily miles. mm in the widest part of the forefoot which is slightly narrower than the average 100-102 mm among Altra shoes.

I replaced the insole with a berry superfeet insole because of my low arches and it adds some stability to a great pair of neutral shoes. With running harder there is a little too much flex to the material and I do get some heel translation. The testers agree that the rubber and the shape performed well, giving runners a flexible and responsive ride. The outsole and exposed midsole have multiple flex grooves, which may actually make the shoe less stable by allowing the shoe to flex with your natural mechanics. They are on the firm side right out of the box, but once some miles accumulate, the ride becomes softer.

For me, a natural feeling shoe is one that has minimal features that guide or force motion in a particular direction. The knit upper has a little more structure than previous version thanks to subtle overlays that run on both sides of the shoe, the Altra logo on the lateral aspect of the shoe, and a tighter knit material over the dorsum of the forefoot. Review will indicate, the latest version of this comfortable running shoe is an excellent option for runners. The weight has come down a little bit from the previous model, which is consistent from all brands this season. was the shape of the toebox, the previous version felt very narrow and restrictive, but I am happy to say they have addressed these complaints.

For some this will be a walking shoe/running shoe double and for some it could even be a speed work shoe.David: " With 20 mm of cushioning, I felt plenty of protection from the road for most of my daily runs around 4 to 6 miles. Follow myself and the select few who contribute on our journey to help you understand your body and the shoes you wear. Everything feels pretty natural throughout and there is a small bounce from the rigidity of the forefoot. On the downside, the toe box is not as wide, and extra cushioning in the midsole makes the shoe heavier and more narrow.

That being said, the stability of the upper has greatly improved from previous versions, which did allow quite a bit of medial-lateral foot translation inside the shoe. If I use these shoes continuously, in the long term, my biomechanics may become used to the “support,” and my foot’s muscles could weaken. The Torin is a very protective neutral running shoe you can run short distances but it really protects you for the long haul. The modified upper mesh hugs your foot like your favourite pair of socks and is adaptable to accommodate a variety of different foot shapes.
