About this deal

Seen through the eyes of a young boy this is moviemaking by an old hand at what pleases the hoi polloi. To be embraced by filmmakers and distributors of such proven imagination and talent as Focus [Features] is fantastic.

com is an Introducer Appointed Representative of Pay4Later Limited, trading as Deko, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 728646). We’re expecting this to be on March 1 at the very latest, but we are hoping to see it arrive a little sooner. Jamie Dornan and Caitriona Balfe play a glamorous working-class couple caught up in the mayhem, with Judi Dench and Ciaran Hinds as the wry and spry grandparents. All advice, including picks and predictions, is based on individual commentators’ opinions and not that of Minute Media or its related brands. The problem with Belfast, and it feels means to even cite it as such, is that everything is just a little too nice, a little too clean, a little too safe. A nine-year-old boy must chart a path towards adulthood through a world that has suddenly turned upside down. Buddy's family lives in a largely Protestant district with a few Catholic families, but one day his community and everything he thought he understood about life is suddenly turned upside down. Behind the camera sees many regular Kenneth Branagh collaborators including production designer Jim Clay, director of photography Haris Zambarloukos, hair and makeup designer Wakana Yoshihara, editor Una Ni Dhonghaile, costume designer Charlotte Walker and casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockman.

The movie is partly autobiographical as we follow young Buddy (newcomer Jude Hill) and his parents (Jamie Dornan, Caitriona Balfe) and grandparents (Cirian Hinds, Judi Dench) dealing with life as their neighborhood block more resembles a war zone.Belfast is a perfectly enjoyable movie but it feels like a simple TV movie-of-the-week, crowd-pleasing version of a more complex story worthy of greater nuance and scrutiny. Far more predictable (it owes a lot to other and much better coming of age movies) and devoid of any real tension than I think a lot people are willing to admit but that's probably because it is admittedly charming and the performances are delightful. We will introduce you exclusively to Newpay finance products provided by NewDay Limited under this Introducer Appointed Representative arrangement.

Caitriona Balfe has just been nominated for a SAG award for the movie, so we’re definitely excited to see the movie and add it to our collections. This is a little later than we expected it to be, suggesting the movie has been a success in theaters. With the incredible support of Northern Ireland Screen also in the mix, we are very excited for the future of Belfast in cinemas around the world in 2021.It’s just as the Troubles really start to pick up, but Buddy doesn’t really understand what’s going on. The Digital release is going to be at least at the same time as the DVD release because of the combo packs. There were 14 other movies released on the same date, including Love Is Love Is Love, Tick, Tick…Boom! Written and directed by Academy Award® nominee Kenneth Branagh, Belfast is a poignant story of love, laughter and loss in one boy's childhood amid the music and social tumult of the late 1960s. The black and white photography is gorgeous and exquisitely composed, looking like old family photos come to rich life.
