Guts lived with the swordsmith Godo and his daughter Erica before learning that the Band of the Hawk are now wanted outlaws and Casca is their captain, aiding them in fending off Midland's hired Kushan asassin Silat. Griffith is back in the human world, building an army of knights, demons, apostles and any other willing companions in his journey to 'save' the world from war to fulfill his dream of attaining his own kingdom no matter the sacrifices and immoral actions he must commit to make his dream a reality. The fantasy, paranormal and existential elements of the story really ramp up in this arc and there’s all kinds of mindblowing chaos at work. Berserk has been my favorite manga, fantasy story and perhaps favorite story ever made for over a decade now and I was really sad to hear that the man behind the masterpiece passed away earlier this year. The two resolve their issues and consummate their love, Guts telling Casca to leave with him after they save Griffith.

Miura again collaborated with Buronson on manga titled Japan, that was published in Young Animal House from the 1st issue to the 8th of 1992, and was later released as a stand-alone tankōbon. In 2002, Kentaro Miura received the second place in the Tezuka Osamu ( Astro Boy) Cultural Prize of Excellence for Berserk. And now the badass champion of adult fantasy manga is presented in an oversized 7" x 10" deluxe hardcover edition, nearly 700 pages amassing the first three Berserk volumes, with following volumes to come to serve up the entire series in handsome bookshelf collections.

The arc was tying up loose ends at a very nice pace, answering questions that many readers have been contemplating since the beginning of the series such as the identity of Skull Knight, the origins of the God Hand, Griffith true motives, how Casca confronts her trauma, the purpose of the Berserker Armor, Guts finding the answer to his life’s purpose, the secret history and lore of the greater universe and much more. This is done to set the dark tone of the series, bombarding you with shocking and upsetting content to make sure you know what you’re getting into before delving back to the beginning. But the thing is all 3 sex/rape scenes do not feel egregious because they are given so much weight and miura perfectly encapsulates how each character involved is feeling in the moment. They manage to get Griffith out of Wyndam while fighting through the Kushan asassins known as the Bakiraka, the king refuses to let Griffith escape and assigns his retrieval to his most depraved fighting force: The Black Dog Knights. Griffith's rise in status and closeness to Princess Charlotte is ill-received by Midland's noblemen, with the king's brother Julius orchestrating an assassination attempt during the a fall hunt.Miura's fame grew after Berserk began "The Golden Age" story arc and the huge success of this masterpiece made of him one of the most prominent contemporary manga artists. After Guts learns Casca's story of how Griffith saved her from being raped by a noble and later how he sold himself sexually to a pederast lord to fund the Band of Hawk, the two are attacked by Adon and his men. While Nina reunites with Joachim, Farnese renounces her faith and decides to follow Guts with Serpico remaining by her side.

We get introduced to a wonderfully intense group of mercenaries that go by the name of The Band of the Hawk.Back at Albion's ruins, the Skull Knight muses that the events which occurred will soon change the world. Joachim gradually engages until learning that the pagans are cannibals and tries to flee, falling off a cliff.
