About this deal

If you would like to give your child a bit of extra help with reading, then look no further than Read with Oxford. They will still enjoy listening to stories while practising their own early reading skills at the same time. Read with Oxford is a home reading scheme that can be used alongside any school reading scheme that your child is using. It has six Stages to take your child from their first steps in phonics to being independent readers.

Our Read with Oxford series features the much-loved characters who have been helping children learn to read for over 30 years. Selected titles from this series are available on the Oxford Owl eBook Library, a new subscription giving you a total of up to 550 eBooks across the whole school. Including an explanation of phonics and an overview of the Read with Oxford stages, the guide also contains useful tips, ideas for games and activities, and answers to all your questions. Tips for parents and fun activities throughout the book help you and your child enjoy reading together. They will have a greater understanding of what they are reading, feel comfortable tackling longer books in one sitting and will enjoy books of different genres. This guide provides the information and advice you need to support your child’s success with reading. These much-loved characters from Oxford Reading Tree were created in 1986 by author Roderick Hunt and illustrator Alex Brychta. They are often able to use the phonics they have learned without being reminded, and they are starting to feel more comfortable reading by themselves. As a guide, most Reception children will be on Phases 1–4 and most Year 1 children will be on Phases 4–5.

Biff, Chip, Kipper, and Floppy the dog have been helping children learn to read – and love to read – for more than 30 years. If your child is reading simply for enjoyment, comprehension, or practice, just browse the library or use any of the other filters.

This collection contains four stories and activities, ideal for children who are gaining more reading confidence. This eBook library is perfect for use in the classroom or to share books with children to read at home. If you need more eBooks, Oxford Owl for School has introduced a new annual subscription of up to 550 titles.

Packed full of fun activities, engaging stories and useful tips, this kit provides you with everything you need to support your child in the lead up to the national phonics screening check for 6-year-olds. In Letters and Sounds, there are ‘sets’ within the Phases – so your child might not know all the sounds in every book within their Phase. They will enjoy listening to stories and will be beginning to recognise letter sounds and read simple words. Help your child build their vocabulary and develop spelling skills with age-appropriate dictionaries from Oxford children's dictionaries. If your teacher has given you login details to use your class library at home, please use the log in link at the very top of this page and select 'Students'.
