Heather has really ramped up the tension to deliver an excellent, exciting thriller packed with punches. This book was so good and so over-the-top it flowed quickly and the story kept going and build into a grand crescendo that to me is just an awesome piece of writing.

She manages to get on with her life marrying Brady, she seems to have it all a husband who adores her and a promising career, but when Brady finds out the truth about the day she was attacked the man she thought loved her no matter what blackmails her leading to bankruptcy.I have loved each and every book in this series and couldn't wait to start reading this new instalment. When Beth meets wealthy crime boss Martin, he sets her up in business, dotes on her and gives her everything she wants. This is the 30th book, but considering Alex has survived "Kill Alex Cross" before, chances are he survives this one. Heather Burnside grew up in Gorton, a working-class area of Manchester famed as the original location for the TV series, Shameless. Her whole life is soon dominated by the love affair and she finds herself alienating people around her and losing control.I personally would class this as Urban Crime which probably suits this series better but who cares about the genre/label when it is great writing that really draws you in. She would become a member of the Institute of Credit management and worked for several years, before she decided to take a break and start a family. Candice her daughter is engaged to thomas but he doesnt know all the facts about her moms pevious life, just so happens james has a secret of his own but what?

The Manchester Thrillers (3 book series) Kindle edition

Having lived in Manchester all her life, many of her novels draw their inspiration from her experiences growing up in the suburbs. The dialogues between the characters are reasonably limited, and the author relies on a narrative writing style. Some frustrating parts with the character’s behaviours and storyline could feel slow but generally really well written and keeps you reading on. She never thought she would ever attract the attention of Gilly, a pimp who wants to use her for something but cannot figure out how yet. Beth turns to Martin a Manchester gangland criminal for help, and Heather's masterly storytelling shows how rounded all people are: bad people do good things and good people do bad things. Without these cookies, we won't know if you have any performance-related issues that we may be able to address. I love books by Heather Burnside and to say she is out done herself I feel is still an understatement.

And, what is unusual in the mass market of contemporary domestic noir/psychological thrillers, characters you actually care about. I couldn’t wait to see a certain character get their come uppance and if the author wanted to create a character that readers just hated, then job done here. Having just finished a book by Heather Burnside and thoroughly enjoying it, I decided to dive straight into another and what an excellent decision that was!Heather Burnside’s novel “Crystal” introduces the protagonist as a working girl that had been through a terrifying ordeal. Burnside is a master of character, and from the first pages you are drawn into what has happened to Beth in the past, and care about what will become of her in the future. She had spent many of her teenage years drinking at the park and sleeping around and she had become a prostitute by the time she turned sixteen. While Heather Burnside had always dreamed of a career as an author, practical concerns took over and she studied credit management in college.
