There are definitely instances of cringe, and I 100% stomped my feet on my bed in second-hand embarrassment, and shouted at the characters to just see what was in front of them – but it honestly left me feeling like these characters were real, imperfect creatures, which made me love them more.

this book proves that anyone can get anything published despite the bad writing as long as they have money. It is extremely refreshing to see an FMC that is realistic in appearance, and portrayed in a manner that is relatable and loveable.She has the balls to stand up to creatures of myth but doesn't have the backbone to kick the ex to the curb after treating her like the shit stuck to the bottom of his shoe and that is after he physical scared her, on purpose. main character doesn’t make sense (shown as “smoll and uwu” feeble when she was living in the human world then had an unprecedented personality 180 switch where she decided to become more outspoken). Farron is sweet and kind of nerdy but everything you could want, like a beastly Daniel Jackson from SG-1. That isn’t present here – with four princes/beasts with very different personalities, and a bonus villain, the connections build slowly, in very human ways. There is also a mysterious fae Prince that we see, who plays a big role in the story line but we don’t see much of, the Prince of Thorns, who has also cursed the palace with brambles and thorns.

If I don’t break the princes’ curse soon, all the magic in the Enchanted Vale will be stolen by the evil—and stupidly hot—Prince of Thorns. Hopefully, in the next book we get to see more of them falling in love because we know they all care about each other to some degree, but I don't feel the love yet. There were a lot of recognizable elements such as, the iconic rose, the magical mirror, an enchanted castle, and the curse were all things I'd come to expect from Beauty and the Beast and the characters were spot on, Marigold was a hoot. Looks like there's more to tell of Rosalina and her Beasts, no to mention figuring out just what the deal is with prince Caspian. It has stolen my heart and replaced my all-time favorite book, Blood and Chocolate, which has held the title for almost two decades! i know this is supposed to be a beauty and the beast inspiration but don’t have to constantly bring it up with the direct quotes from the disney movie. Overall, Bonded by Thorns sets a really good groundwork for the continuation of the series and is a definite recommendation.
