About this deal

I mean, im a sucker for both the best-friends-to-lovers and found family tropes, so what did we expect?

So This Is Ever After by F.T. Lukens | Goodreads So This Is Ever After by F.T. Lukens | Goodreads

not laughing-out-loud-and-then-awkwardly-stopping-because-people-are-staring hilarious, but funny enough that i screenshotted parts to bait my friends into reading this with me (none have joined me as of yet but i refuse to give up). The book carries this rather sanctimonious attitude throughout and really I felt I was being preached at. The author makes you ask if you'd rather your friend follow each of these narrative or rather be happy. That missing half star is because the romance was the slowest of slow burns, and I wanted Arek and Matt to be together desperately! I would recommend the mystery box to anyone who isn't sure of what to read next, I am very excited to receive the next one.Arek has just defeated the villain reigning over his kingdom, successfully completing the prophecy he was destined for. When I say this is fanfic-esque, I mean that this story happens after some sort of big conclusion to a different story. He reveals that most of us force ourselves to follow the narratives but are much less strict with frineds to whom we rather wish happiness even if it should mean that they would not follow these socially accepted norms. However, at the same time, the main character is wildly horny and constantly getting inappropriate boners, so I probably wouldn't recommend this to anyone of standard middle grade reading age. I would have loved more of the fantasy element but appreciated that this was a character driven book.

The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After - Julia Quinn

Tessa takes double shifts to avoid Hardin, but Landon and Hardin come to her restaurant and request her as their server. On the evening of a masquerade ball hosted by the Bridgertons, Sophie is able to sneak away from her duties and attend. We will often fail to notice them, and even when we do we will find it really hard to accept that the narratives we’ve heard since childhood can be the source of widespread misery. At times, I thought they (specially Arek) don't even deserve to be the rules (or King in Arek's case). The book was so effortlessly queer, and I love fantasy stories where queerness is normalised and not acknowledged as something that makes you different. The latter two thirds were better - making more convincing and coherent arguments about the traditional marriage-monogamy-munchkins (OK, I couldn't think of a word for 'children' that began with M) route not being for anyone, and in the final chapter talking about conspicuous altruism being nothing to look down upon - but I was still left wondering how much of the statistics presented in this book were accurate and backed up the points made.

When Quinn first began writing the story, she struggled with how to introduce expository information — facts that were necessary to understanding the Bridgertons' world, but wouldn't naturally occur in dialogue. Daphne, anticipating that he might someday change his mind, takes the letters and hides them, but when she offers them to Simon at the end of the book, he decides not to open them. He claims that for some people, being fit is not such a value and that they might be happier living their habbits that contradict good health (smoking, body building). After maintaining a correspondence with a widower and famous scientist named Sir Phillip Crane, 28-year-old Eloise decides to take a leap of faith and accept his written proposal. When it came time to revisit the characters from this book, I knew it had to be at a Pall Mall rematch. In "Bridgerton," Penelope's alter ego as Lady Whistledown is revealed at the end of season one (though Easter Eggs pointed to her identity throughout the season). I received a digital review copy of this book from Penguin Books (UK) in exchange for an honest review.

After Ever Happy - Wikipedia After Ever Happy - Wikipedia

An interesting little book discussing whether the social narratives many of us strive for are actually making us happier. That change flipped the typical dynamic on its head, which I greatly enjoyed, as I'm not sure I've ever seen that approach in a romance before, so that fresh take was kind of cool. Hardin is hurt by the bombshell and nearly hits Landon out of rage for not telling him, but Landon reminds him he is also Tessa's friend as much as Hardin is his brother. We are willing to be dragged through despairing lows of a heart-wrenching story because we know the author is not going to leave us there. The book falls several times into the same confusion many contemporary advocates of higher taxes on the rich do: are these higher rates supposed to fund greater transfer payments or deter people from becoming rich in the first place? During production, the cast worked closely together and stayed in a hotel in a more isolated manner, while cameras weren't rolling, due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and protocols. theres a ragtag team of teens who just took down an evil king, but the reader doesnt experience any of their journey, how they reacted to the prophecy, how they developed their friendships, how they came to terms with their role and destiny.
