The IPAs were particularly delicious, and we highly rate the Galactic pale ale, a classic American IPA.

There’s a great range of tipples here (all of which are vegan), including IPAs, stouts and a couple of ciders. Raise a glass of these Christmas beers, share with friends, family and strangers and sit back and enjoy as the world descends into a fairy-light fuelled frenzy. Altogether, this is a tasty and enjoyable IPA with elements from New England and West Coast, nice level of bitterness, very nice. Founded in 1996, BeerAdvocate is the go-to beer resource for millions of consumers each month, the benchmark for beer reviews, one of the largest and oldest online beer communities, and host of world-class beer fests.Inside, there are 24 full-size cans behind every door, and the variety is second to none – you’ll find ales, stouts and pilsners. There are 12 beers in total, ranging from classic Greene King tipples, such as Old Speckled Hen, through to lesser-known beers, such as the Ice Breaker pale ale. As you take your first sip, you’ll be greeted with a burst of hoppy goodness, with notes of grapefruit, pine, and a touch of spice. We were unexpectedly smitten by the Che Guava Radical Lager, for example, but appreciated the traditional flavours in the Liberty Lager. This robust, malty beer is packed with flavour and is at a strength you can enjoy all (Christmas) day long.

Pours a bright golden with solid clarity; fluffy white head that fades leaving nice retention and lacing.Like the Big Man himself, Hoppy Xmas only makes a brief appearance every year, so hops to it while you can. Alcohol-themed advent calendars are officially a thing, and although beer ones have been around for a while, the good news is manufacturers continue to innovate, producing calendars that celebrate the mighty hop in a wide range of ways. We never knew there were so many types of pork crackling until we got this calendar, but the versions included are surprisingly delicious (we highly rate the black pepper version). polarising IPAs, this bundle is a flavoursome journey ideal for craft beer enthusiasts or new entrants to the crafty scene.

Finally, there’s no denying a certain amount of drinking was involved, and, as big fans of beer, with a weakness for anything hop-related, we like to think there’s no better judge for the job. Pours out to a medium burnt orange, forming a solid off white head with very good retention and lacing. The tipples come from brilliant breweries located in the UK, and it’s another calendar that does especially well when it comes to the range of beers, which is truly diverse.

Yes, this is one of the more expensive beer advent calendars, but it’s great to see a brand championing British brands, and there’s something here for every type of beer drinker. The taste is pine and citrus up front followed by tropical fruit - pineapple, mango, coconut, papaya. Although we felt a little short changed to find there were only 11 beers (alongside a very cool Stormtrooper glass and a snack), we still found plenty to love about this calendar. True, it may not be the most festive one we’ve come across, but the contents more than make up for it.

We've bundled 8 beers and 1 x BrewDog schooner glass into an epic box of varying styles, ABVs, flavours, hops and dreams. The range of producers is pretty impressive too, with inclusions coming from more established breweries, such as Northern Monk and Le Chouffe, but also from smaller microbreweries. But this isn’t just any hoppy beer – BrewDog has taken things to the next level by adding cranberries and cinnamon to the mix, giving Hoppy Xmas a festive twist. If you’re looking for a beer that screams “hoppy holidays,” look no further than BrewDog’s Hoppy Xmas!

We also loved the festive design of this box-shaped calendar, which has 24 circular windows and a green-and-red colour scheme. We’d never heard of Capital Crisps before, but its salt and vinegar crisps were absolutely delicious, while other munchies contained in the calendar include yoghurt-coated raisins, nuts and roasted fava beans. We loved the packaging, too, with a snow-dusted night sky (featuring 24 circular doors that were easy to open) setting the wintry scene. May hop flakes deck the halls and carpet the streets with the tangy sweet citrus aroma of papaya and pineapple. You'll find bright citrus of lemon and orange, light pine notes, crisp bitterness and rounded finish.
