A true staple whiskey cocktail, the Old Fashioned is simply three ingredients: whiskey (bourbon or rye), sugar, and bitters. Bubble gum (or bubblegum) is a type of chewing gum, designed to be inflated out of the mouth as a bubble. Whether in a classic stirred cocktail like an Old Fashioned, or in a shaken sour like the Daiquiri, gum syrup takes your favorite drink to new and elevated heights by adding weight and a silky mouthfeel. The bubblegum will dissolve after about 15-20 minutes of cooking, leaving you with real bubblegum flavored milk that you can then combine with the other ingredients (once cooled down) to proceed with step 5 of my recipe directions. In fact, if you want to make a vanilla ice cream instead, then ditch the food coloring and bubblegum extract and rather add in vanilla extract.

If you don't have a cocktail shaker, you can simply pour vodka and simple syrup into ice-filled glass and stir together before topping off with soda water.
