The whole idea of a superhero character running around in his underpants is of course an old joke passed down over the generations that (I believe) stems from Superman and his outfit.

I don't remember much of the details, but I know he was gonna be a massive, angry man who died, but came back to 'earth' to avenge those who wronged him. Though since Dog Man is a fictional creation from the two, a cameo appearance could be difficult to do.While the main threat that was teased at the end of the original film was the talking toilets, adding the villains from the third Underpants book, the naughty cafeteria ladies from outer space, would make a fine blend of horror and sci-fi for the sequel.

Sulu then becomes a mainstay for all of their adventures and accidents in later books, and is joined by another pet, Crackers (Pterodactyl) later in the series. The Captain Underpants sequel is expected to flesh out more of the universe, and Sulu should be next on the list to be introduced.

If you could see into the mind of a child with an overactive imagination, I think it'd look something like this. From what I can see of the books, which is very little honestly, the film seems like a faithful adaptation of that style. This scene contains the aforementioned cushions, armpit farts, squeaky farts, snot shooting out of a kid's nose, etc, etc. Arguably George and Harold's (and Captain Underpants as well) biggest antagonist over the course of the book series, Melvin Sneedly, had a bit of a smaller role in the animated film. George Beard and Harold Hutchins are two overly imaginative pranksters who spend hours in a treehouse creating comic books.So since that very first incarnation there has always been this silly gag about superheroes and underpants which kids have always enjoyed. While the Turbo Toilet is a mere servant of the evil plot of Professor Poopypants, a scene near the end of the film hints at much more sinister plans for the Toilet. One of the things Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie did well was mix the plots of the different source material together into one cohesive story, and that trend should continue with the second movie.
