The kings assassination did take me by surprise but the fact that they were the ones to do it absolutely did not. On the night of her sisters formal engagement to her cousin (the Kings son), the King announces that he is opening up dowry negotiations for Elise. it wasn’t actually boring, even fast-paced, but i was irritated with writing and sudden twists in characters’ motivations etc.

The level of grief we get to see isn't nearly what it should be for the death of someone who was cared so deeply for. The FMC is besties with her serfs, prefers being in the slums to her fancy royal life, and thinks everyone is equal because she treats them equally. The world building was very unique and interesting and the author did a very good job of describing the scenes in the story in a way that was completely immersive and left me able to invision the setting as though I was there with the MC. It is crucial to approach these remedies with an open mind, understanding that folklore and personal beliefs may influence the effectiveness of any method.Seek the guidance of spiritual practitioners, healers, or shamans who may offer rituals, blessings, or guidance tailored to your specific situation. I still couldn't put this book down, the series of emotions it pulled from me while reading was intense and I 100% recommend reading this series. As secrets unravel about Legion’s vicious past, questions rise over who has the true right to the throne.

This book is what you get when you take a pinch of Viking lore and mix it with a dash of Beauty and the Beast. I suppose it’s not only self-inflicted, as Tor with his broken heart is also wary of what Legion and Elise’s future might hold. Right off the bat, obsessions with a warrior past are not exactly a great marker - especially when coupled with the clear viking inspiration for the Timoran (Elise’s) culture. I am aware that fantasy worlds are obviously much different to reality - however the author has chosen clearly to include certain accurate elements of Viking culture.

It was very entertaining and we got more insight into Valens past and got more character building and world building, so it checked all of my main boxes. There is a lot going on And there are people coming for the Crown but you also find out quickly that there are lots of Fae In this book and you realize that the throne was taken by Elisa's distant relatives that are now dead. Through an act of profound empathy and forgiveness, Elara shatters the sorceress’s hold over the curse. stars, because it’s still not a masterpiece by any means, but I enjoyed myself too much to give it that.

The Enduring Legacy The Curse of Shadows and Thorns leaves behind a legacy that transcends its fictional boundaries. It serves as a reminder that darkness can be confronted and conquered through acts of love, courage, and self-discovery. It caught me in emotion, the way these characters come together, find strength, believe in each other and plot twists unravel. Teagan, waking up from this incident covered in green tattoos, is stunned once Jade’s overprotective family insists that he is a mage.
