About this deal

So why was she parked in a Bentley convertible idling behind a DC private school, in the middle of the night, with the man who was the head of that school? Chasing a ghost he believed was long dead, Cross gets pulled into a case that has local cops scratching their heads and needing his help: a grisly string of socialite murders.

Alex Cross - Book Series In Order Alex Cross - Book Series In Order

The main case is mostly slow and thorough detective work, interspersed with some high action, mainly in the second half of the book. This time around brings some real sadness for John Sampson (no spoilers) so he may not play such a pivotal role within the crime investigation as per usual but his own story plays alongside. In this latest book it looks at his family relationships and those he has with his best lifelong friend and fellow cop John Sampson. The solutions came as a complete surprise to me so I was glued to the pages throughout trying to work it all out, and failed as usual. As soon as I finish a Cross novel I feel bereft and need the next one; thank goodness they are in the hands of a truly amazing author and we know there will be more to come. Whether this is due to the storylines and individual plots for each book or the fact that I have invested so much time in the main characters and their respective families that I am so excited about reconnecting with every book that I would pretty much follow whatever they do. When a glamorous socialite and high school principal are found murdered, lying half naked in a car, the shocking double homicide dominates tabloid headlines. A string of precisely executed bank robberies culminates in a tragic murder, thrusting detective Alex Cross into a battle of wits with a twisted and sadistic mastermind orchestrating the crimes.

C., working as a metro PD consultant, Alex Cross helps his wife, Chief of Detectives Bree Stone and detective John Sampson investigate a string of rapes and killings of teenage girls, one of them known to Alex' children. Deadly Cross is a fabulous entry into this series - it's gritty, detail oriented and heavy of the police procedural side of things, more so than the immediately previous entries.

I think James Patterson should publish a cook book of all of Nana Mama's brilliant recipes - but I digress. C., is in a panic, and when a third body is discovered, rumours of threeserial killers send the city into an all-out frenzy. Indeed, such is the genius of James Patterson that all did not become completely clear until the final stages of the book. Is it the work of an obsessed fan or a spurned actor, or is it part of something far more terrifying?
