About this deal
This does mean, however, that some colour may be expected to leach from the barrel of the pencil on to your hand when used on a hot day. The Chromaflow pencils provide artists with an affordable professional quality product which is easy to layer. Chromaflow pencils have been developed to be suitable for a wide range of drawing and colouring techniques; the rich blendable pigments and effortless smooth laydown means they are particularly great at creating vibrant artwork, even on black paper.
Derwent Chromaflow Pencils 72 Tin
I used it in some areas as a burnish blender or to lighten up some of the areas and I didn’t feel like it really added any additional value. I suggest that anyone using these seriously would be advised to mark the lower LF numbers on the pencils with clear labeling as I have done in the photo above. Don’t confuse permanence with lightfastness, there are still a number of lower rated pigments here, though not too many. Chromaflow pencils are also erasable so you can use this to an advantage to create highlights in your work.I think it fair to say that these fit into a logical slot as a softer version of the Artists/Studio pencil. Derwent Chromaflow are 60% lightfast across 72 colours, LF – Lightfastness rating (6 – GOOD, 7 – VERY GOOD, 8 – EXCELLENT) Is Chromaflow oil or wax-based?
