So would it not be bumped up the list so it doesn’t effect its release if left for later down the line? The Five Doctors, though often said to be a part of season 20, was therefore not a part of season 20 in any production or broadcast sense. Behind this cover is another piece of artwork, with the type of artwork varying from season to season. The Collection - Season 8 (BBCBD0564) and Season 24 (BBCBD0520) were re-released in 2022 and 2023 respectively, with standard Blu-ray cases. For example, the trailer for The E-Space Trilogy box set, originally included on the DVD release for Battlefield, is included in the Season 18 set on the disc for Meglos.

I guess it’s too late to speculate, but I have wondered if the disc tray glue/adhesive would ever be revised on these sets. For the BD release, Region A was mastered at the original 1080p24, while Region B was converted to 1080p25 (resulting in a slight speed up).The stories were later made available the same year as a bonus disc in the Complete Specials Steelbook in the UK, and The Complete David Tennant Collection in the US. He’s also claiming among other things that terry nation plagiarised his robots of Luxor script with the original dalek story. Had JN-T got his way, the twentieth anniversary special would have in fact been a part of the regular twenty- first season. The recent tweet from Mr Coburn says the BBC have approached him again and although the money offerred has not increased there have been certain other offers that they have made. The competitions are not open to employees of DOCTOR WHO MAGAZINE or anyone else connected with DWM, the printers or their families.

There’s a very well informed Youtube video by Taylor’d Vision that mentions the Collection using pretty much the exact same boxset tray design as Torchwood’s dvd boxsets, and apparently how flimsy those tray sets were from back then. Surely Tom is getting on a bit to be doing that stuff but maybe they have banked a lot of his interviews and bonus material content already. Having listened to his interview for type 40 I don’t think his claims can be legally usable in court. The story was shot on film at 24p, which was then telecined using 3:2 pulldown to US 480i NTSC picture standards at 60i for editing and mastering.

They decided to convert the 1080i50 broadcast masters to 1080i60, to ensure the discs were compatible in both regions. I guess the overall (almost) half a year silence has really given me time to rethink if I’ve been truly happy with the physical sets themselves. has a lot missing still and both 4 and 5 have had a number of recent releases with the animations, so 6 seems logical for Troughton.

But they’ve definitely got to update Invasion of the Dinosaurs, it’s one of those things that most of the fanbase have wanted for years. In this instance, the tripartite tale involved Turlough's attempts to kill the Doctor at the behest of the Black Guardian.

For the UK broadcast, the US broadcast master was "reverse telecined" back to 24p, before being converted to 576i PAL, and sped up to playback at 25p. Season 12 was reissued, with near identical packaging and contents (the only changes being that the set was marked as a second edition on the bottom of the J-card and slightly altered artwork on the spine), in 2020.

As there are 6 full stories completely missing (Marco, myth, massacre, savages, smugglers (possibly animated for this year), highlanders) and 5 stories with 1/2/3 episodes in storage (crusade, dmp, celestial (possibly animated for the 60th), wheel and space). The standalone BD release of this story includes both the 3D and 2D versions on a single disc, and is compatible with both 3D and 2D BD players. There are currently NO future DVD or blu-ray titles announced yet in the UK (although I would agree that we are bound to get the 60th Anniversary stories in some sort of package after they have been shown). It had been commissioned as a 28-part series, and the intent was that it would have actually been broadcast towards the end of 1982. The Beginning box set I saw on the shelf definitely had all three stories in transparent cases, which surely means they must date from mid-2020 at the latest, seven years after Stef claims he inherited the rights to An Unearthly Child.Fair enough, the design idea was from 2018, but we’ve had 5 years now for someone to just have a rethink at least on the concept of maybe using superglue instead of pritt stick.
