What remains so delicious is how it all ties itself together, with seemingly innocuous scenes at the beginning becoming integral to the (eventual) understanding. Extras on the Blu-ray will include camera tests, a deleted scene, a Fat Bernie’s Commercial, and a Behind-the-Scenes featurette.

A little of both is closer to truth, but even so, the story morphed into a study of the psychological effects that an obsessive personality can have in a business where things don’t always end happily—only on the big screen. The kind of professionalism that Driver exhibits while behind the wheel also extends to his other actions in the film.In any event, it’s what’s on the discs that really counts, and Second Sight continues to knock it out of the park with all aspects of their releases, both inside and out. Much of the credit can be laid at the feet of Naomi Watts, who was mostly unknown at the time she was cast in the film, giving a powerhouse performance that launched her career. Of course, Drive is really driven (pun intended) by its fantastic soundtrack, featuring a propulsive score by Cliff Martinez, as well as an eclectic collection of songs that will be instantly recognizable to fans of the film. Core to the entire movie - to the point where you could almost watch it without dialogue - is the score from composer Cliff Martinez, which is just a work of genius.

As we should all know by now, for movie content, 70 Mbps average bit-rate is never enough to resolve grain perfectly, and it isn't on this disc either. After a sudden car accident while riding in a limousine, a beautiful woman (Laura Harring), lost and dazed with amnesia, wanders into town and sneaks into a vacant Los Angeles apartment. Everything was housed in a sturdy hardbound case with artwork designed by AllCity, and it’s flat-out gorgeous. The cast all give great performances from Carey Mulligan as the woman the driver falls for, to the vicious mob bosses played by Albert Brooks and Ron Pearlman.

Yet Refn is far more fascinated by the concept of transformation than he is by any notions of professionalism. The extras are quite substantial with this UK version only having 2 extras not on the US MVD Rewind version released year and that is an extra Featurette Highway To Nowhere Jason Tobin and Drive and the Original Theatrical version of Drive which runs at 100 minutes, 18 minutes less than the Directors Cut. dba Freestar (“Freestar”) for the purposes of placing certain advertising on the site, and Freestar will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes.

This is stylized in this way; it gives the movie a filmic look and an almost '70s look which I really like. It's amazing the impact that sound and music have on a movie, because, it wouldn't have been the same if it wasn't styled this way. With a bio-energy module placed in his chest, Toby's awesome martial arts skills are tuned to a super-human level.Special agent Toby Wong (Dacascos) is outfitted with some bio device that gives him superhuman powers, and Toby is worried that the Chinese government will want to exploit the device within him.

She also accused it of being anti-Semitic, and even if that had been true, it’s not clear why she expected to be legally compensated for that fact. Drive gets the Limited Edition 4K UHD/Blu-ray treatment, arriving on 6th June 2022, the exquisite collectable, bonus-filled box set is presented by Second Sight Films and Nicolas Winding Refn.

And the superb cinematography is only complemented by this new presentation, with the slow-motion lift sequence a thing of absolute beauty, as light and shadow alter in time with the events, the image focussing in on the two leads with intensity as the corners of the frame turn to shadow and the centre glows with warm light. Drive is a modern classic, one of the greatest movies of the last twenty years, a superbly orchestrated piece of indie filmmaking, made original by breathtaking visual energy, a stunning soundtrack, rich imagery and an effortlessly cool style. He was always a professional, so his transformation involves using his existing skills for a different cause: protecting the innocent.
