What remains so delicious is how it all ties itself together, with seemingly innocuous scenes at the beginning becoming integral to the (eventual) understanding. Extras on the Blu-ray will include camera tests, a deleted scene, a Fat Bernie’s Commercial, and a Behind-the-Scenes featurette.

A little of both is closer to truth, but even so, the story morphed into a study of the psychological effects that an obsessive personality can have in a business where things don’t always end happily—only on the big screen. The kind of professionalism that Driver exhibits while behind the wheel also extends to his other actions in the film.In any event, it’s what’s on the discs that really counts, and Second Sight continues to knock it out of the park with all aspects of their releases, both inside and out. Drive is a modern classic, one of the greatest movies of the last twenty years, a superbly orchestrated piece of indie filmmaking, made original by breathtaking visual energy, a stunning soundtrack, rich imagery and an effortlessly cool style. He was always a professional, so his transformation involves using his existing skills for a different cause: protecting the innocent.
