Description

It’s often convenient to make coffee from ground coffee as well as beans – especially if you sometimes drink decaf or just enjoy trying different blends. You might think that because this machine hasn’t ranked as highly in our top ten table as it’s sister model the Magnifica, that it somehow falls short in performance, but that’s not true at all. As with any machine with an integrated grinder, it has a head start – grinding the beans directly before making the coffee will always give you great results as you are using the freshest possible coffee, and that really does make a noticeable difference. From coarse to smooth, there’s a whopping thirteen settings to choose from, so I’d challenge anyone to find that there isn’t a setting that meets their delicate palate’s needs! As you might expect, this means the PrimaDonna Soul is also one of the most expensive in the Delonghi range.

Ground coffee can also be used by adding it to a small separate compartment – just make sure you select the “ground coffee” option before starting the machine. While a bean-to-cup espresso machine has a number of benefits, including fresher coffee and a simpler coffee making process, it’s still important to be aware of their downsides. We’ve put together a page on Delonghi Eletta spare parts that you may find helpful if you have an Eletta and need something like a replacement tank or infuser, or need consumables like descaling liquid or water filters. Aside from giving you the freedom and versatility to make your own drinks exactly the way that you like them whenever you want them, owning your own espresso maker is a great way to save money in the long run. The type of coffee you can use, some machines will allow both grounds and beans - perfect if you need decaffeinated coffee.

The built-in grinder has 13 separate grinding settings so that you can select the exact coarseness that you want for each cup of coffee. We prefer the silver colouring compared to fully black machines (although this is a minor point), and the model will look great in almost any kitchen. The LED display on the top of the machine adds to the image of a functional, yet modern, machine that won’t let you down.

On top of that, the machine is fitted with automatic cleaning, rinsing and descaling programmes – this is designed to ensure the upkeep is as simple as possible and the machine is always running at full capacity. Personalising your coffee has never been easier; choose from short, medium or long, try a strong or extra mild aroma, enjoy it piping hot, at medium or low temperature.

We HIGHLY recommend spending a bit extra on the freshest and best coffee beans for your new machine. Once you've found your favourite combination of milk and coffee settings, you can save it for next time. The great thing about these sites is you can read reviews from real people who’ve spent their own money on a machine. It comes with many of the same features as more expensive Delonghi coffee machines, yet is firmly a mid-range model, making it an attractive option to people who want great espresso and cappuccino but can't afford the pricier options. The removable parts including the drip tray, water tank, and bean hopper will need a soak with soap and hot water, I do this weekly, but it is really dependent on how much you use the machine.
