I just really enjoyed this story and I'm glad I have now found a book I wouldn't hesitate to gift to my little baby cousins and nieces or nephews in the future.

It's Penguin Awareness Day, so, we've put together a booklist full of books about penguins, so you can get to know more about the flightless birds and love everything they're about. In his first adventure, siblings Imogen and Arthur saved him from the clutches of unscrupulous private detective, Bill Hunter, and he now lives happily in Sydney Zoo, Australia. When Pippin discovers she possesses magical powers, she uses her newfound skills to investigate the mysterious water shortage in Funsprings. When the Stewarts -- Dad, Mom, nine year old Imogen and 6 year old Arthur -- visit the London zoo on a cold December afternoon, the last thing they expect is for a penguin to follow them home and make himself their guest. The story carries a lot of Paddington vibes, mainly because this tale is also set in London and that wild-animal-with-a-family trope seems similar and familiar. At the delight of young Imogen and Arthur, Mrs Stewart insists the penguin must come and stay with them whenever he likes. Imogen and Arthur provide plenty of adventure and some really clever mystery solving, and for a mute animal Einstein is very good at giving just the right hints at just the right time. This book is such a lovely read and will be perfect for reading before the Christmas holidays, as well as lending itself to some exciting class discussions about what you would do if you found a penguin.

But not one Stewart expects the penguin to turn up at their door that evening, rucksack labelled "Einstein" on his back. If you are looking for a book with a little adventure to read with young children this will definitely work. The children are the real heroes, working out Einstein’s mission and helping him and outsmarting adults left, right and centre. After all, when Mrs Stewart offers a polite invitation while leaving London zoo, she doesn’t expect it to be taken seriously. Na een bezoekje aan de dierentuin krijgt het gezin Stewart, bestaande uit moeder, vader, de 9-jarige Imogen en de 6-jarige Arthur bezoek van wel een heel bijzondere gast: Einstein de pinguïn.He is a very clever penguin and, with the help of Imogen, Arthur and their Mum and Dad, they go on a quest to find Isaac.

There’s a lot of humour and sweetness in this and I think a lot of children would enjoy Einstein and his adventures living with a family in London and getting up to a bit of mischief whilst he is busy looking for his friend. At the delight of young Imogen and Arthur, Mrs Stewart insists the penguin “must come and stay with them whenever he likes. It would be fantastic to spend time building character profiles for each of the family members and Einstein (of course). Het is het begin van een wel heel bijzonder avontuur waarin Imogen en Arthur als ware detectives op zoek gaan naar Einsteins vriend Isaac. This experience has been fantastic primarily for the children, the school and also for me (professionally). Gave me all the feels of when I was a kid reading Famous Five, Secret Seven, Baby-Sitters Club etc - just felt so nostalgic reading this sweet and fun tale of a tiny penguin who shows up at the Stewarts' home after their visit to the London zoo.

With charming, witty illustrations from David Tazzyman (he of Mr Gum fame), this delightful adventure makes a magnificent modern-day alternative to Paddington, and is perfect for sharing as a family. This is such an appealing debut story from Iona Rangeley, with really clever, curious illustrations from David Tazzyman. Einstein is a very resourceful penguin, having managed to escape his home at Sydney Zoo and managed to get himself on a flight to the UK, where he believes Issac is and is busy looking for him in London Zoo when the Stewart family see him.
