I used Aleppo pepper flakes rather than regular crushed chillies as I don’t like too much heat, and it was perfect. Not that many of the recipes in Persiana Everyday couldn’t be part of the loveliest entertaining menus, too. I have almost all of the ingredients (except coriander) on hand all of the time so could make it any time. But it was still really delicious, especially the next day, and very quick and easy for the amount of flavor you get out of it. She continues: "If you gave me your grandma's apple cake recipe, of course I'm going to be bricking it, because I want to get it right, I want to do it justice, I'm not familiar with it.We've been eagerly anticipating Persiana Everyday, her most accessible book to date, and it doesn't disappoint - the dishes are so generous and inviting, the kind of food you really want to share with friends and family. Upshot: I’m not sure I loved it and I’ll probably try the other butternut squash soup in this book before revisiting this one with tweaks.
