About this deal

New images released at the time include the quartet running down a New York City alleyway; David Yates chatting to stars Katherine Waterston and Eddie Redmayne on the set in front of a blown out subway station; Colin Farrell's character, Percival Graves, interrogating an arrested and handcuffed Newt; and Graves and Credence putting up anti-magic propaganda. Rowling has said of her teenage years, in an interview with The New Yorker, "I wasn’t particularly happy. Over its first month of streaming in HBO Max, the film was streamed in an estimated eight million households.

While the first book focused more on the action, flare, and plot of the wizarding world, this one slows all of that down a little bit.

million, [68] topping the box office but marking the lowest opening of the Wizarding World franchise. The official hardcover screenplay was scheduled to be released on 19 July 2022, three months after the film's theatrical release. It contains a blood pact Grindelwald and Dumbledore made in their youth that prevents them dueling each other; Dumbledore believes it can be destroyed. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, I highly recommend watching the movie before reading the screenplay. Filming officially commenced in London on 20 September, [37] with safety precautions in place to keep the cast and crew safe from COVID-19.

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald's plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists Newt, his former Hogwarts student, who agrees to help once again, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. She attended St Michael's Primary School, a school founded by abolitionist William Wilberforce and education reformer Hannah More. Muggles who have seen the eponymous film or read the Harry Potter novels will be familiar with some of these beasts. It is the first instalment in the Fantastic Beasts film series and the ninth overall in the Wizarding World franchise, serving as a spin-off of and prequel to the Harry Potter film series; it is inspired by the 2001 guide book of the same name by Rowling. I also enjoyed that Kowalsky played such a big role and that we got to see so many familiar characters again.

You can see the bones of a great story and I think had JK Rowling written the books, we could have had something that was up there with Harry Potter. She had a difficult homelife; her mother was ill and she had a difficult relationship with her father (she is no longer on speaking terms with him). A particular focus of praise from some reviews was that Mads Mikkelsen outperformed Johnny Depp in the role of Grindelwald.
