In 2014, to mark the 60th anniversary of Swizzels’ most recognisable brand the company ran a competition where fans had the chance to design their own Love Heart. The Swizzels story began 90 years ago in London, when David Dee, maker of fizzy tablets, joined forces with Alfred and Maurice Matlow, purveyors of jellies and chews. The New Mills site looks very old-fashioned on the outside and there are varying types of production inside but also a lot of automation. Generations later, members of the founding Matlow and Dee families are still on the board and involved in the running of the company in the modern era.

We have markets in Ireland, Germany, the Nordic countries, Austria, Switzerland, the Middle East, America, Canada. Pairing it’s exquisite chewiness with it’s iconic milk and raspberry flavour combination, the Swizzels Drumstick is a favourite with countless sweet lovers and is a British confectionery hero.
