My dedication to my family and farm makes capturing photographs of sunrises difficult, so I’ll just wait and over time I will have opportunities to capture those images. Forty Farms offers a unique insight into the everyday lives, fears and hopes of 40 extraordinary farmers, through photography, products, film and words to create an immersive experience. Image credit: Amy Bateman - Forty Farms) What is the most challenging and rewarding part of your photography?We’re delighted to be hosting Forty Farms which brings to life the stories of local farmers who for generations have been fundamental in shaping the landscape and culture of this region.

The book and the exhibition are at the heart of Forty Farms but there’s lots more happening too – I’ve been a bit overwhelmed by the enthusiasm for this concept, for the images and, at the heart of it all, for the stories of Forty Farms.My husband can be doing a podcast or watching a podcast or something and the kids can be watching telly, and one could be doing homework and I could still be working without impacting on anybody’s speed. Bateman ’ s photographic journey is a little more unusual than most, beginning just five years ago, but even though she ’ s fairly new to professional photography, that hasn ’ t stopped her making a success of things. A lot of people generally overlook the animals and consider them just part of the bigger composition. Before we got B4RN here, a friend had it about a mile away and I used to drive to her house and use her B4RN to upload things!
