Description

That’s not cheap, at all, but it does come with a lot of kit including five large RGB-enabled fans and two glass panels. These extra bendable cables are designed to simplify cable management, making Fractal’s latest PSUs incredibly easy to use across a broad range of cases/enclosures. You will have gathered from our video that we have mixed feelings about the Fractal Design Torrent Compact. At the case level, if you go mass overkill, only a portion of the air will actually be doing cooling. Reproduction in whole or in part, in any form or medium, without express written permission of MI Group LLC.

The Torrent Compact is built to air cool your compact build as efficiently as possible through an open front grille and two of our 180 x 38 mm Dynamic PWM fans (Prisma for RGB version), making it a perfect fit for air cooling aficionados looking for a compact case.

The PC market is changing, and Fractal believes that they have a new case design that’s perfect for today’s high-TDP graphics cards and the needs of the PC gaming market. Je ne comprend juste pas l'utilité d'une vitre sur le panneau arrière, on voit les câbles et ça n'apporte rien à part du poids et des risques de casse.

KitGuru says: If you fancy the looks of the quirky Torrent Compact you will need to accept its slightly unusual layout. For the optimized mode, we run the GPU fan speed at 30 percent and run the CPU and included case fans at their lowest speed. While that worked well enough we think we may have made a mistake, not least because there is a fair amount of steel in the floor of the case that obscures those huge 180mm 1,200rpm fans. The chassis supports motherboards up to EATX in size and ships with a GPU support bracket and enough cable tie mounting points to tidy every conceivable hardware setup.

That's a fair amount of load inside a mid-tower case and we consider the temperatures inside the Torrent Compact were absolutely fine. Sowohl optisch als auch haptisch strahlt er eine hohe Qualität aus, die sich dann auch fortsetzt, wenn man die Komponenten einbaut. And lastly, the top-mounted power supply may, as it did for our build, cause an issue where the GPU cables aren’t long enough to route behind the motherboard and out from the bottom for the cleanest possible look. Fractal Design has had quite the tried and true range of cases for the longest time, with the Define and Meshify lines taking center stage. This isn’t a bad thing, but if you’re using a triple-fan graphics card, you’re cutting it close, as the case only supports graphics cards up to 13 inches (330 mm) with the front case fans installed.Since you don’t have the option to mount a radiator to the top of the case (remember, that’s where the PSU lives), you’re limited to impractical mounting options for liquid cooling, either in the front of the case or at the bottom. The rest of the top panel is barren, thanks in large part to the power supply’s mounting location at the top rear of the case just like the original Torrent. I won’t quite say that I have grown tired of companies taking the safe route by slapping a fine mesh front panel on cases.
