Of the orange biscuits, Galaxy owner Mars said: “Combining the classic crunchy base of a digestive biscuit, with the irresistible creamy taste of smooth, finely milled Galaxy milk chocolate, this is a biscuit designed for you to enjoy for that little bit longer. Indistinguishable from Lidl’s Tower Gate, these also have a blurry imprint and are uneven in shape; both feel like they are trying to match the McVitie’s flavour. When you’re mixing the filling, you want it to get to a stage where you can scoop some up with your spatula or spoon and you have to give it a tap on the side of the bowl or slight flick of the wrist to get the mixture off the spoon. The innovation was claimed to offer 30% less sugar and 50% more fibre than its standard counterpart, while retaining “the distinctive, salty-sweet flavour”. Although this biscuit was more popular than the McVitie’s version in the taste test scoring 78/100 compared to 72/100.

If it’s sloppy and slides right off the spoon without any encouragement needed, then you need to mix it more. The brand has also shared ideas on how to incorporate the biscuits into recipes and we're feeling particularly inspired to use these biscuits as our base for a deliciously decadent cheesecake. We recommend that you always check the packaging for allergen advice and talk to your doctor if you need any further food allergy advice. We've previously had Galaxy truffle hot chocolate powder, a Galaxy smooth orange flavoured chocolate bar and even Galaxy cupcakes, but this new launch might just be our favourite yet — as the brand has announced it is launching Galaxy Milk Chocolate and Galaxy Orange Digestive Biscuits. flavoring, nice biscuit and typical of Galaxy smooth chocolate but not that orange tasting, nice but expensive I think for what they are at present. The chocolate giant has already caused controversy this Christmas after removing Bountys from its Celebrations tubs.

In that poll McVitties Chocolate Digestives came top, followed by Cadbury's Fingers, Cadbury's milk chocolate digestives in third and McVitie's plain Digestives in fifith. To decorate, pipe some whipped cream around the edges of the cheesecake and add Galaxy Caramel pieces, Galaxy Caramel buttons and some fudge sprinkles. Many fans are elated with the news and a Facebook post on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK has more than 3,000 comments. Rough textured, with a dark and distinctly malty bran flavour, they would be good to have with cheese. You can also opt for a brand that includes rapeseed oil, thus bringing down the total palm oil content.

The reality is, the only way to avoid palm oil altogether is to make your own digestives (as we discussed before). Aside from providing a calorie boost for exhausted health workers, are digestives (whose recipe is nearly two centuries old) any better for you than other biscuits? I would also recommend that you check the packaging of everything you're using in the recipe in case of cross contamination. Galaxy has announced that it will be launching its own line of digestive biscuits but you won’t be enjoying one this side of Christmas. These are very pale with a blurry, indistinct stamped design, and aren’t a perfect round, but they taste malty and rich, if a little lacking in crispness.

Simon Browne is leading the new business as CEO, having worked as managing director for Burton’s since August 2015. These and Aldi’s Belmont Digestives are indistinguishable, but there was one extra biscuit in my Tower Gate pack. The products will no doubt be sought after by families across the UK and become a fast favourite for many biscuit barrels.
