For years he has coddled his image as a mysterious humble man who opens his mouth and spits out some nonsense, which for some reason seems extremely sweet to many people. Albarn developed myriad musical side projects, among them Gorillaz, while drummer Dave Rowntree became a solicitor and Labour councillor. even if you do not listen to blur or grahams music, you should definitely read this as it talks more about sobriety and struggles through fame than the music itself. Coxon felt the chord sequences, the art, the books, the love, the detached adoration, the distortion and the mess. He was unapologetic and honest and I was always impressed by people who were really straight talking and assertive.

Verse, chorus, monster' is licked to the bone, so that his almost patented image does not fall apart. Coxon made for a more cheerfully disruptive presence on Duran Duran’s 2021 album, Future Past, on which he stood in for original guitarist Andy Taylor, playing alongside other living-legend guests such as Italian electronic-music pioneer Giorgio Moroder and former David Bowie pianist Mike Garson. I thought I would put a pamphlet in the book, “Musician’s Guide to Dealing with Fame,” or something like that because I kept finding myself saying, “I wish somebody had told me, had warned me, in 1991, had said, ‘This might happen. The walk crosses over St James’s Lane and there’s a view from that bridge which I find very inspiring.I pleaded you to be human,” Coxon tells someone, later begging: “ Recognise me for a moment / I know it’s you I’m programmed to.

But it’s a private bitterness and” – he smiles ruefully – “it does come with a little bit of sugar on top.

Of course, at 77 minutes, ‘Superstate’ is a touch too long to keep your attention in one sitting but, it has fun trying to do so.

In an interview with Far Out, former Suede guitarist Bernard Butler said he felt the Britpop era was almost parodic, and felt deeply disconnected with the aura, because he grew up in an Irish household. Away from Blur, he’s also dabbled in creating scores for TV shows, like The End Of The F***ing World and I Am Not Okay With This. Detta kan man säga om varenda person i boken; Dave, Alex, alla hans romantiska partners, hans föräldrar osv. Whatever the case, I finished the book knowing less about Coxon than I thought I would, especially given the use of the word monster in the title; I was expecting spiky critiques of the risible Country House hit single and the paucity of bonafide thrashers in Blur's back catalogue, but overall Coxon seems quite apologetic about it all, even if he is whining. Or detailing how his home recording system works but failing to mention a single thing about any of his partners.

Jag har inte gått in i särskilt mycket detalj här för jag orkar inte verkligen, men här var en överblick över mina åsikter om denna boken. on 80gsm Munken Premium Cream, sewn hardback with head and tail bands and ribbon marker, and endpapers.

Working on the soundtracks had made me prolific by this point,” Coxon says of the amount of material he recorded for The End Of The Fucking World. As Blur bossed the 90s, and Damon Albarn’s bouncy songs about Englishness came to exemplify Britpop, Graham Coxon could usually be found scowling at the back of the band’s group shots. So it’s equally cringeworthy (the comment above about Uriah Heap is so true) but also very revealing in that he devotes more space to his pedal set up to telling us anything about his children. We dropped in to this Hockney show a few weeks ago with the little ’un and it was great to see a kid a few months old reacting to these huge images being projected across the space.
