About this deal

Even with its additional fans, the H7 Elite does not run much cooler than NZXT’s standard H7, with both cases exhibiting GPU thermals that are 5 degrees hotter than the H7 Flow. When letting each case run with their maximum out of the box fan RPMs, the H7 and H7 Elite deliver identical thermal results, proving that the Elite’s additional fan do nothing to lower overall system temperatures. The H7 Flow hangs in with the HAF 500 for middling noise levels, beat only by the O11D EVO’s reduced fan set.

If you were wanting to use more powerful (and power-hungry) processors, you would quickly encounter issues if not using all fan mounts. The H7 Flow’s exterior is otherwise unblemished, while the H7 Elite and H7 have extra vents in their side panel to boost cooling, due to them lacking a vented front panel. Voltage regulator temperatures show why this builder prefers to put the radiator (and its extra fans) on top, as the N515 fell well behind the H7 Flow’s clear win. Obviously, the H7 Flow has a perforated front panel, allowing the case’s front fan (or fans) to intake air directly from the front. The graphics card temperatures saw the Elite's multiple front fans offer the lowest temperature of 71 degrees, followed by the H7 flow and the H7 was 4 degrees warmer due it having just one fan. The HAF 500 fed our GPU the coolest air, followed by the H7 Flow without the top exhaust filter fitted in place, and then the H7 Flow with top exhaust filter.

And with the performance of the new H7 Flow, it’s clear the company’s iconic design can evolve and continue to impress with the changing market and growing thermal demands of today’s high-end hardware. When I was building in the H7, I didn’t realize until I finished that only 25 minutes had passed, including time spent removing my hardware from the previous case. A member of NZXT’s new H7 family, which includes a solid-faced H7 (standard) and a glass-faced H7 Elite, the H7 Flow is the "holiest" of the bunch, thanks to its perforated sheet-steel front. While its H series of cases have undergone many revisions, the silhouette always looks the same–the differences are down to details and internals. However, it does have an added vent on the rear side panel to allow air to enter, with two 120mm fans included as standard.

Featuring a perforated front and top panel, alongside widened channels, hooks, straps, and toolless entry, this sleek case will keep any build cool and comfortable while offering plenty of space. Perhaps NZXT should release a H7 Elite Flow model, that ships with the H7 Elite’s RGB lighting and addition fans and the H7 Flow’s perforated front panel. Some PC builds are easier than others, and much of it comes down to the specific PC case you choose. Letting the GPU run at 75% fan speed enables it to maintain its power target while sticking to one set reasonable fan speed, so that the temperature is the only variable.

For a straightforward, clean, and modern-looking PC buildout that performs as well as it looks, the H7 Flow is just that simple, earning an Editors' Choice award among ATX mainstream chassis.

By that time, I’d already self-published some guidelines on hardcore PC stuff: pin-modifying processors to defeat compatibility checks and overclock non-overclockable systems. Even with an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X processor, you'll see a good 5% reduction for average temperature in games. No, NZXT’s delivering everything on day 1, launching their H7 series with standard, Flow, and Elite series models from day-1. Removing all the panels exposes just how open the H7 Flow is internally, with its forward fan mounts a full 2 inches behind the front panel.

There are only two differences between the H7 and H7 Flow, and those differences are the case’s front and right panels. Again, it sits towards the bottom of our graphs, delivering results that are amongst the best cases that we have tested. There are Velcro ties at the top and to the rear edge of the motherboard tray too, and the positions of cable-routing holes have been well considered.

This is complemented well by the perforated front panel which also runs down the entire front of the case.
