This was essentially one of those books where everything happens in service of plot, even if it makes no sense at all. I’ve fallen in love with her books over the years – the characters are imperfect, vulnerable, and always funny.

Once you start to analyze your everyday behavior you notice all the little things that add up and turn into this domino effect that is your life. Everything about it was so obvious--when the main character mentioned that she kept a list of all her goals tucked inside her bra, I knew that was going to become a plot point later, and it did--a very contrived one, at that. Happiness for Beginners: The Power of Positive Thinking by Ani Right is only 84 pages but filled with lots of helpful advice.

It kept me glued to my Kindle, snapping at people who dared disturbing me while I tried to finish it (sorry family), a little angsty, adventurous and sweet! I love that I can always count on Katherine Center to provide me with a feel-good, laugh out loud kinda book that also has great little nuggets of wisdom! but then spends the whole rest of the book wondering, every time his attention seems to be focused elsewhere, if he still likes her. Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 48 out of 100, based on 11 critics, indicating "mixed or average" reviews.

She pulls you deep into the heart of her characters and has you not only routing for them every step of the way, but also learning things about yourself, as well. This book has it all: laugh out loud humor (MY kind of humor to boot), a cool setting (Wyoming mountains), adventure, angst, clever as hell dialogue, and even a bar mitzvah!
