About this deal

The last thing I asked Cross was how he thought Kurt Cobain should be remembered, to which he replied: “Well, I think first and most importantly, he will be remembered for those songs.

It goes without saying that all those admires of his music wish to know more about the tragedy of his life. Finally, it is also important to state that due to Cross’ special style the book is easy to read and comprehend. Cross fuses his intimate knowledge of the Seattle music scene with his deep compassion for his subject in this extraordinary story of artistic brilliance and the pain that extinguished it.I thought I would include that piece here as a tribute to this wonderful book about one of music's most iconic and dearly missed figures. This book explores the Mamba Mentality in meticulous detail, an attitude Kobe valued tremendously, explaining how it affected his dramatic career in sport and took him to the top of his game. His book Room Full of Mirrors: A Biography of Jimi Hendrix provides an in-depth account of the life of the rock legend, capturing him perfectly.

Growing up with cool parents with cool music taste, my introduction to Nirvana came at the early age of three. As much as I idolized Kurt for most of my teenage and college years I now see that Cobain's style of thinking was as someone who saw himself as an innocent victim and he tended to be a bit paranoid. Because the story of Nirvana has been told countless times over, most notably in Michael Azerrad's authorized biography Come As You Are, Cross devotes an inordinate amount of time to the musician's childhood, looking for early signs of his creative talent and his bent for self-destruction.The albums were financially successful projects, but many people considered them to be quite failing. It’s just very off putting and plays into a bigger issue that a lot of people, especially in the media, are guilty of. Cobain ultimately decided to leave his father's home at the age of 15, as tensions grew between himself and his father and stepmother.
