About this deal

This upper midrange shift on the Arya, I find, could make the mids come across for some listeners as a little lean, and also a tiny bit shouty, particularly at around 3K. Effectively, this shows how significantly the headphone’s frequency response deviates from the target. Despite their large form factor and full-size planar magnetic array, the Arya is remarkably light 404g, which keeps them from becoming fatiguing or tough to wear in prolonged listening sessions. The instrument and vocal presentation are distinguished, allowing your music to breathe and come alive.

HiFiMAN is THE company to go to if you want the absolute cutting-edge technology in your planar magnetic headphones. This characteristic minimizes resonance and unwanted vibrations, leading to cleaner sound reproduction and enhanced audio accuracy. There is a fair amount of treble energy around 6-8k but not excessively so with the upper treble around 8-10k just tapering down ever so slightly. Not too much like the LCD-5 can get for my head and not too loose either that it hands uncomfortably on your ears.

To be honest, the high frequencies seem to be vastly improved over the first and second-generation Arya cans. It’s nice to find the same pad mounting system as their other asymmetrical cup headphone designs have, which means you can replace them when needed since they’re user-replaceable. There’s more shake and vibration to the lows, resulting in better sub-bass, and more of a theatrical impact. I wasn’t paid or asked to say anything good or bad about this product, all of the above is just my personal, unbiased opinion.

However, as I mentioned earlier, the mids here do have a bit of a counter-clockwise tilt that emphasizes the presence region between 2K-5K. I would have liked to have seen it in a softer jacket and a bit longer or an alternative at 3m for home use given it’s an open-back headphone.

The quality of the lowest frequencies impresses me, nonetheless, it’s not thick or physical, but the bolt-fast attack sounds like it’s just made for very technical electronic music. It enables precise management of the air movement, preventing unwanted reflections and resonances that can degrade the overall sound quality. These headphones also come with a user-replaceable connector design allowing for easy cable swapping, offering durability and enhanced customizability. This is by no means the most luxurious pair you'll ever feel, but it might just be the most comfortable one, and this is what really matters.need a subwoofer or a good pair of headphones (open-back headphones, for example) to hear this region. By no means does this apply a painful amount of pressure, but it can apply enough to make it noticeable and a bit distracting. And when someone kills me I usually perfectly know from where the shot was taken, so the only issue that stops me from being a better player is my aim, but unfortunately I can’t blame the audio gear. On rare occasions, things get better and less costly, that seems to be a rule in life but the HIFIMAN Arya Organic broke that rule.
