Description

The B2 is bundled with software that will take your music to the next level, including "Skoove" which will help you improve your keyboard performance ability, the "KORG Module" piano keyboard sound module app, and the "KORG Gadget 2 Le" DAW music production app. The USB to Host port also allows you to connect to mobile apps, such as the previously mentioned Skoove online lessons and the Korg Module app for more sounds. Other functions exist, including some robust MIDI features like sending and receiving MIDI, Program Change, and Control Change data. In addition, we enjoyed the unfussy labelling of the buttons, as it leads to a more piano-like look, rather than the typical layout seen on beginner keyboards. I’d say the B2’s design is nearly identical to the past B1, and I’ll reiterate what we said about it before.

The Italian Concert Piano has a somewhat Yamaha-ish tone, with no overly pronounced frequencies, so it’s my go-to for use with the B2. Also available is the B2N, which is equipped with the same functionality as the B2 but features a lighter-touch keyboard. Korg includes a Partner Mode on the B2, which splits the keyboard into two halves, each having the same key range. Being in love with music for as far as he can remember, Lucas started this blog as the “ go-to”place for the most accurate and detailed information about the world of music. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the B2, a highly regarded digital piano, is Korg’s join to the B1. This arrangement reduces the overall mass of the digital piano, but at the cost of a natural feeling keybed.

Unfortunately, Korg decided to use mini-jacks for both the in and and out, which may have been a mistake in our opinion. While this piano is popular, it’s also quite basic and suffers from some of the same issues as the Korg B2, namely a lack of features. However, the 9W Korg B2N speaker amplification loses out to the 15W speakers on both the Korg B2 and the Korg B2SP.Korg has years of experience in manufacturing instruments and always adds a degree of quality and posh to their line of pianos. This may not sound like a big deal, but it means you can't upgrade the pedal to a different brand or even replace it if it was to malfunction. It also hugely depends on the software and how it allocates memory to avoid noticeable note cut offs. Now that we’ve reached the internal features and bonuses, the Korg B2 unfortunately suffers a bit in this area.

The knob, however, it feels a little bit cheap because it doesn’t have much resistance, but at least precise volume changes are possible. The same goes for using headphones, with most professional headphones - be those studio headphones or the best headphones for digital piano - using the larger jack. If versatility is what you’re looking for, there are other options that might give you more bang for your buck.

Sounds appropriate for rock and jazz are provided, as well as the sublime sound of a real recorded pipe organ. The Korg B2 offers anyone wishing to play the piano for the first time 12 well-voiced tones and a comfortable key action, making it evident that it is a big advance over its somewhat underwhelming predecessor.Stylish, portable and with a range of powerful features and connectivity options, B2 will enhance your playing experience from the first note.
