It’s definitely not my place to say, since I’m not a part of that community, but it didn’t necessarily sit right with me. A dark, twisty YA thriller exploring obsession, stalking and toxic love that keeps you guessing to the very end!

which ya know, I’m sure that’s representative of plenty of friend groups, but it doesn’t always connect with me. Between the lies and the secrets and the shady characters, I wasn’t sure who to believe or where to look. Belle wanted to tell herself it was a dream, because none of this could be happening, except… the rest of the night had been incredibly vivid. Because, Jack said, and a chill unfurled at the base of Belle’s spine, even though you’re innocent, you got what you wanted. Poppy and Bella both cared deeply for their friend Raven and then when tragedy struck and he lost his mother, they thought he would be happy - that was until he got an evil stepmother Evelyn and then a stepsister Lily. This felt someone was grasping onto 100 different length and weighted threads and aggressively poking them here, there and everywhere to create a rustic and holey floor rug. Every bit of the atmosphere and narration captivated me; I’m really glad to have picked this one up! And when Raven's stepmother ends up dead, a long ago murder pact shines an unfortunate light on the group. Being caged and trapped is one of the main theme in Lies like poison and each character feels that in his/her own way. I will say that I can guarantee you that you will not solve the mystery, at the very least not in the first half.

So I was pleasantly surprised to find this this is actually a dark, gothic story about two boys, two girls, obsession and family secrets. The only clear problems I agreed with were the sheer incompetency of the police force in this mystery, and fact that pretty much every adult in this story is an asshole. Riverdale meets Kara Thomas’s The Cheerleaders in this electrifying, twisted thriller about estranged friends who reunite when someone commits the murder they’d planned—but didn’t go through with—and leaves one of their own to take the fall.Milly, Aubrey, and Jonah Story are cousins, but they barely know each other, and they've never even met their grandmother. Although I hated to see these characters suffer so much from their home lives, it was a good look into how rough some people have it, no matter their social or economic status. Apparently, someone had taken a cluster of poisonous flowers and stuffed them into his wife’s tea kettle.

Child This cover reveal and exclusive excerpt will surely thrill fans of mystery, suspense, and danger with a hint of decadence. this book was boring, made literally no sense and just stupid 😀its so boring, the mystery is forgotten all the time in favour of unneeded backstory that isnt even important to the plot. A gripping thriller from WATERSTONES CHILDREN'S BOOK PRIZE-SHORTLISTED Tracy Darnton, author of THE TRUTH ABOUT LIES.From the author of bestselling THIS LIE WILL KILL YOU comes another unputdownable thriller about a group of friends who will do anything to protect each other even murder . The police have been a negligible force, entering the story only when the plot requires it to be relevant. It’s just not enough to make the story meaningful to me, to make the ending any less rushed, or make me care about the characters any more. There's a lot of red herrings towards the end of the book, and I didn't quite guess who the killer was. But the last third really saved the book, where it got so exhilarating and full of reveals I didn’t expect!

A few weeks after she moved into that house, he started to hear his mom’s voice in the middle of the night. Here is a quick description and cover image of book Lies Like Poison written by Chelsea Pitcher which was published in 2020-11-10. It's quite another to have unreliable narrators but none of them is actually responsible for Evelyn's death. As we read each story we unpick the various deceits these characters (and those around them) have told, and learn more about the complex background of each.If we dropped a petal of belladonna, a petal of poppy, and a petal of lily into that cup, we’d never really know which one of us killed her.
