For me it began as a solid 4 * book, yet as the story grows it truly drew me in to the point where I ended up reading it at 1:30 in the morning. It had a less traditional outcome than romance novels and featured someone of a different age bracket, which I found refreshing and relatable. I really liked Lydia and her daughter Ollie and I wanted her to find the person she was not the person her ex had made her into. So, if you want to read a book that will make you want to go on an adventure, this is the book for you.

When he boasts exactly how Aurora participates in ultramarathons, Lydia takes this to mean that he had actually located Lydia boring. Not only was Lydia heartbroken at the sight of him, but she also looked horrendous after last night’s shenanigans. But aside from the adventures and Lily’s bucket list, Lydia also has to face some harsh truths – like Adam finally filing for divorce.

Lydia is ruined as she has been holding out hope that he would certainly regret his choice and patch points up. And then there were so many things going on and thoughts going through my mind that I couldn’t cope! When Lydia finds someone else’s bucket list in a supermarket trolley she is possibly at her lowest ebb, so surprising everyone (including herself) she decides to tick off all the items. The story is full of humour as she works her way through the list especially as she finds a fine Male friend to join her. A must-read for lovers of 2nd possibilities and also readers who applaud when female personalities enter their very own. If you’re looking for a book that will inspire adventure and to get you out of your comfort zone while still getting that Rom Com feel, this is the book for you. For Lydia and Jake to have one big conversation about everything and to fix anything that could be broken. The author certainly doesn’t follow a strict romance/rom com template in Lily Bennett’s Bucket List.Adam, Lydia’s husband, has found a new partner and deserted her, leaving Lydia feeling lost and alone unable to move on. A brand-new man, Jake Jones, ready to adventure with her just as pals due to the fact that she wants her other half back. There’s nothing quite like seeing a character you love blossom, and Lydia was certainly a character I had high hopes for. The list (I won’t give anything away there) is her key to becoming more adventurous and exciting to entice him back.

Relationships were fixed, slates were wiped clean, and there was such a euphoric feeling of freedom and love that gave me the warmest of feelings. It was so nice thinking of Lydia’s future and just how much Jake would (or would not) be a part of it.This was also a hugely exciting point for me too, and I loved that it appeared towards the end of the book! The slow burn of Lydia and Jake’s friendship to more-than-friendship was so satisfying, the chemistry between them written with such attention to detail. As she's had a rough time and everybody thinks she wont do anything adventurous she decides to do the things on Lily Bennet's list. Such a lovely, uplifting story with relateable and likable characters that I know I am going to miss.
