We first discovered The Lion Guard, which is a spin-off series on Disney Juniors of the original Lion King film, when we got it as part of a portable DVD set before going on a very long car trip to France this summer! Also, every time it falls over the top lookout part seems to pop off, and my son has a lot of difficulties getting that reattached.

Certain toys that my children own really make me smile – with one such toy being the Lion Guard Training Lair Playset that my oldest child has.He would also act super sad – and say things like “you know if I had that Lion Guard Toy I would be super happy again. It is not very annoying for parents, it is very safe, and most importantly – all the little features this toy has are exciting for kids and keep them having fun for a very long time. The bottom part of the training lair is a waterfall door that can be “busted open” and a cave drawing lair that makes noises and spins arounds when the knob to the left of it is twisted. The zip line stand, Kion, and Janja are a little bit heavier, so some potential damage could happen here. This isn't just about great toys for all our kids, but for taking a look at toys for those of us parents who remain children at heart.

Why he decided he needed this toy was because he got a hold of my phone and watched countless videos of other people playing with toys/reviewing toys. This toy has also been adapted from being just a Lion Guard Toy, to becoming a fort for his army men and paw patrol toys too. There is virtually no assembly required, so nothing annoying there (I’m looking at you KidKraft Kitchen Set that I hate). It has taken some abuse, and a couple of the pieces have broken off, and I think we lost the projectiles that get launched – but overall it has been a great toy that the kids still love!If you can find this toy for sale, we would still recommend purchasing it – and we have had a lot of fun with it over the years! The bungee jumping launch platform has always been his favorite part, and I could see any child launching different figures off of it – even if they aren’t a fan of the TV show.

The boys absolutely love the series so when the opportunity came up to review The Lion Guard Rise of Scar Playset, I was keen to do it. The 3 rd floor area has a perch that spins arounds as well as my child’s favorite feature of this toy. There are a couple of small plastic pieces that could be potential choking hazards – so use proper adult supervision with small children.Other features include a waterfall that will make noises and light up – and a removable zip line piece that can be connected to the lair and used as a zip line. It is meant to be a bungee jump perch where you attach a figure to the bungee jump line, hit the switch, and send them soaring in the air. An exclusive Kion figure comes with it too and additional features include fun lights and sounds and is suitable for children age 3+. The second floor has a nice flat platform for the figures to rest on, plus another “climbing area” where you can attach a figure and have it climb up the rocks.
