Not only is she battling with her teenage daughter and two little boys she is also fighting her way to the top in work, with some difficulty. She tells Gail Bell about a new book deal, a new business and the mental therapy of making people laugh. There is of course the whole cast of Derry Girls to choose from as well and Serena is familiar with many of them, after landing a cameo role in the forthcoming series of the Channel 4 comedy. This book is an absolute tonic after a tough couple of years and I can’t wait for readers to be cackling along with her. I had people from America, Canada and Australia reaching out to me and I couldn’t believe the global reach, so quickly.

This was a sadly funny look at a mother losing her s**t over her newly teenaged daughter, her age, weight, kids, and a full-time job. Some of the most enjoyable parts of this novel was when Tara stood up for herself in work after events occur she manages to get her own back. Anti-feminist views, Ageism, Hypocrisy, Double standards, Victim blaming, Pedophilic implication, Misogyny/ Sexism. She used to dream of being Beyoncé but suddenly she’s thirty-six – with three kids, a loving husband, a very boring job – and instead of headlining Coachella, she’s in her pyjamas on a Friday night, watching Gogglebox. I loved seeing these two boys team up, I can already smell there is going to be even more trouble when Jax is really able to walk and run and do everything.

This was more real; this was me saying, ‘I’m not doing great, my kids are doing my head in and my life is upside down’.

I’ve really been able to flesh out and her family life and professional life and all that comes with it. Her thoughts, self-belief and self-esteem needed some working on, I know that wasn’t the premise of this book, but it would have been lovely to see her realising and making some necessary changes rather than pulling down the other women (in particular) around her to make herself feel better.

I think it was the third video I put up that went viral and honestly, I was just doing it out of boredom for a bit of craic.Patrick died five weeks after a liver cancer diagnosis and his twin, Daniel, who had mental health issues, passed away two months later. Just a shame some bad/unhappy things had to happen first before she started to treat her mom with respect. Event host and social media trainer, Ashleigh Watson MCIM said: “During the pandemic, social media has played a defining role in keeping us all connected. All these opportunities have arisen from sitting down and looking up TikTok and thinking I could do that. It is a bit confusing with the derry/Irish words, but there is a little reference to these words at the end of the book (which I didn't notice until the end) so I just kind of read these words and didn't completely understand what it meant.
