Otherwise with a source with higher output impedance, the sound signature may be skewed on the Starsea. This is my first experience with Moondrop, and I have to say the Aria did much better than I was expecting, proving just how competitive the budget monitor market is these days. The SE215 has a bit less overall treble than the Aria, but sounds pretty similar from the bass into the mids.

I’m not a fan of MMCX connectors in general because they potentially have issues with frequent cable swapping, so 2-pin connectors are quite welcome in my book. Personally I think this is a very easy pair of IEMs to live with, and I didn’t miss the more tiring top end I’ve heard on some other models. The Aria SE has a thinner note weight, and less bass, and it is just a tinge better in technicalities and clarity. The Snow Edition go for an organic tonality and natural timbre over outright in-your-face technicalities.I really like the sound character of moondrop is there a model with a better build quality with similar sound? There are all sorts of aftermarket tips for the Etys, so it’s pretty easy to find something that balances comfort and isolation. Granted my Ola was more expensive than my Tanya and it clearly blows it out from the technical performance, but I believe Ola was quite a unique case that is different to the norm. The other major difference is the paint job: while the KXXS are shiny metal, the Aria are painted matte black with silvery-golden lines (the colour seems to change with the light). The Moondrop Aria IEMs come well-packed in sleek, matte black cardboard packaging with gold accents, which give off an elegant vibe.
The first type has a smaller core diameter (41mm) to fit the single DD IEMs, such as the Starfield and the KXXS, along with the SSP/SSR. But as there is a boost in the upper treble area, you will notice that the treble on the Moondrop Aria can get airy, which is very unique and sometimes addicting.So in essence, the Aria SE is poorer in technicalities than the Heart Mirror, so you might want to consider the Dunu Titan S, which is also neutral bright, but has slightly better bass quantity than the Heart Mirror. I read your review on Olina but I’m still having a hard time deciding on which one to get because it seems like Olina has great technical performance but it is also commented that it brings out female vocal more than the male vocal, which is something I wish to fix here from Ola. In my opinion, the presence of the lows is tuned just right for it to be enjoyable for casual listening and gaming sessions.

The first comparison involves sibling rivalry, pitting the Snow Edition against their older sister, the Aria 2021. it is similar to Ola when it comes to midrange and treble region where instruments and vocals are portrayed cleanly.Not sure if you have gotten it, but you can get an adapter, or make one using microtape and taping around the nozzle, to take on different ear-tips. Compared to the Kinera BD005 Pro, the Moondrop Aria also has more pronounced sub-bass and mid-bass which makes it a better all-rounder IEM. These have a more flabby and nebulous bass, with much more bass quantity and note weight than the Snow Edition. However, it is noticeable that there is a lack of sound stage and imaging when paired with my phone.
