Description

It features a triple rear camera set with a 48MP wide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth lens, along with a single 13MP front camera. After all, it's a great way of enjoying faster data speeds for far less money - and that alone is enough to see it rank among the best cheap phones. This sounds immediately attractive when you consider it offers a 90Hz refresh rate, but there's a catch, as its resolution is pretty low at 720 x 1600.

But, of course, the battery life will drain faster when using the device regularly for power-hungry activities like gaming and streaming. If you’re one of those conventional people that want to keep their wallets and phone at the same place, this is the cover for you. Made from high quality TPU material which makes the case strong and durable, soft and lightweight at the same time. The overhead bezel protects the screen and camera and the flexible rubber inner frame provides an extra cushion to absorb the shocks and squeezing and protects the phone from accidental drops.

You only get one field of view useful for everyday photography – no ultra-wide – and the main camera is worse than much of the competition. You can clearly make out each distinct leaf, and while it’s not packed with detail, you certainly won’t struggle to figure out what you’re looking at. You’ll have to run it at reduced graphics settings, and even then dips below 30fps are fairly common. I routinely have around 40% or more charge by bed time, and would trust it to last a full day, on any day. What’s nice to see is that the moto G50’s design is water-repellent, which Motorola claims provides a “barrier to help protect against moderate exposure to water such as accidental spills, splashes or light rain”.

That's similar to the 1,690 multi-core score of the Moto G9 Plus, and higher than the 1,267 of the Moto G30. With 5,000mAh to pack all the juice in and 15W charging, it does the job and you won't have to worry about recharging quite as often as with some other cheap phones. While the reality is that you might not have 5G in your area yet, it’s still a great feature to have on an affordable Android handset. While there's no wireless charging support here or the ability to use reverse charging, the Moto G50 does offer 15W charging, which is faster than some low-end phones. The case is designed with high-quality TPU and PC material to protect your phone from all angles and the raised edges around the camera and screen keep it safe from drops, shocks and scratches. It’s also a clear step down from the last-generation Moto G 5G Plus, which was (/is) not much more expensive. Paired with 4GB of RAM, the moto G50’s snapdragon 480 processor provides modest speeds that’ll suit the needs of most users. Annoyingly, you can't remap this, so it may well end up being a button that's a bit pointless in the long run, depending on how you use Google services.
