No Plan B has all the staples we’ve come to appreciate: a smalltown, arrived to seemingly at random, but soon Reacher finds a conspiracy unfolding, as a series of ‘accidental’ deaths have something more sinister behind them. Killing Floor was an immediate success and launched the series which has grown in sales and impact with every new installment.

But Reacher is unaware that these crimes are part of something much larger and more far-reaching: an arsonist out for revenge, a foster kid on the run, a cabal of powerful people involved in a secret conspiracy with many moving parts. Jack Reacher has paused briefly in his travels in Gerrardsville, Colorado, when he witnesses a woman being pushed into traffic who consequently dies.

It’s a dark, horrifying crime that may be difficult to come to terms with and if more was revealed about it, I may have been more convinced about Reacher’s actions when he reached Winson. This story had too many subplots generating so many characters, it bogged down a rhythm fraught with frustration trying to keep up. Reacher violently beats up one thug every three pages in a far more violent and bloody way than usual. And then the local police disregarded Reacher's witness statement in favor of another "highly respected" person who saw Angela's "suicide.

As Jack Reacher continues drifting across the country, he stops at the small Colorado town of Gerrardsville to visit some Civil War related museums he’s heard of that interest him.In subplots, two other people are heading to that prison as well for their own purposes--one, a young boy running away from foster care, wanting to find his birth father; and the other, a man looking for revenge. I am a 77 years old wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and sister…I have eclectic taste but prefer mystery stories, worked in a library…so I feel I’m a good judge of books! credibility was ruined with the Bond villianesque lair scene with dozens of expert forgers reproducing Old Masters and Modernist/Pop Art and Legal documents in a prison block of all places.
