A clean and clear interface is always welcome, although these days we find ourselves pretty happy using most manufacturers’ third-party skins. The company owes its business stamina in part to something that’s become a bit of a Nokia trademark: massive batteries. Night-time images are fairly poor; but we actually expected them to be worse given the Nokia G21’s small sensor. However, the rear camera is less interesting than it first appears, offering only one field of view, one 'zoom style', making the G21 feel more like a single-camera phone. It’s a fairly cheap phone, although you can save even more by dropping down to the Nokia G11, which is similar –but comes with a weaker camera.

It comes with a multi-functional magnet front protector as well which helps your case protect the front of the device via a glass protector. Any more taxing processing and you might see the phone slow down a little as it tries to manage, but most gaming is also doable, if slightly affected by the display quality. The phone comes with a clean installation of Android, which means no preinstalled apps or pesky software skins, with dual-SIM capabilities and a 50MP main camera.

Yes, the design is rather nice and the clean Android installation is always a positive, but the phone’s so-so performance and weak battery life don’t help the Nokia G21 pull away from the competition. Honestly, I’m shocked that Nokia is okay with how this screen looks, and it’s a serious downside from what should have otherwise been the star of the show.

Motorola and Nokia, for instance, continue to be locked in a never-ending battle for budget supremacy, releasing smartphones at a feverish pace. I was particularly impressed with the Nokia G21’s portrait images, which for the most part captured my subject rather well. The Nokia G21 can capture slow-motion and timelapse videos, as well as stitched-together panorama images. The camera setup is neat, perfect for the odd social media post – with portrait mode in particular a refreshing highlight – but don’t expect to win at the National Geographic Photography Awards. The Nokia G21 has a high-capacity 5,050mAh battery that Nokia claims can last up to three days between charges.

That’s fine for overnight charging, but quick top-ups won’t be possible unless you get hold of a more powerful charger. The combination of flexible TPU and shock absorbing corners helps protect your phone from drops and other impacts. The TPU protective cover is made of high quality and easy-care TPU, Very low weight and the use of mobile phone are not affected, No disturbing smell of rubber.High refresh screens have steadily been trickling in from the high end lately, but you won’t find anything above 60Hz for less than this. Having often struggled to compose shots properly as a result of the Nokia G21’s dim screen, we were mostly pleased with the results.
