It ended up being clever and deeper than I had been expecting but at the same time a little bit silly. A bit of a problem arises when filming ends and male lead Leo Vance, once known as the Sexiest Man Alive, doesn't want to leave. Nora Goes Off Script made me laugh out loud, and offered a soothing fantasy about discovering your humdrum life is someone else’s perfection. How wonderful to find a rom-com that is smart, fresh, romantic and funny without syrup or corniness.
However, I loved Nora Goes Off Script by the same author and I knew I had to give her new release a try.

I don't agree with the culture of putting certain chosen humans above others in real life, and apparently I can't stomach it in fiction either. Leo is (of course) the gorgeous sexiest man of the year —puts all other men to shame, and is the popular romantic TV star playing the part of the divorce husband in Nora’s new made for TV movie. A couple of puzzling surprises—nothing earth shaking shocking—but just enough to keep our minds wondering ‘why’….We don’t really know, and she doesn’t either, which makes the book hum with her constant low level anxiety that he’ll leave her, just like her ex. After shooting wraps, Nora finds Leo on her porch with a half-empty bottle of tequila and a proposition. For example, the way anxiety is treated in a historical is going to be very different than how it’s treated in a contemporary. Suffice it to say, I had NO clue how the author was going to pull off a “romance” ending, but she did, and it worked.
