Old J Rum takes inspiration from and honours this suggestion, using Caribbean rum with a secret blend of spices, sugar, vanilla and Persian lime. Tiki Fire is based on the same recipe as the original spiced Old J, but is bottled at an intense 75. The thing about having something so high in alcohol (other then using it to flavour cherries) is that it can stand up to big flavours and balance perfectly. It took over sixty trials before the perfect harmony of ingredients was found, and Old J’s smooth and spicy flavour profile was born.

For something simpler, it also blends beautifully with simple fruit mixers such as passion fruit or Ting. Old J is an award-winning spiced rum brand which takes the classic Tiki spirit and infuses it with vanilla, Persian lime, and a host of top-secret spices.Pruning at the wrong time of year can put trees at risk from silver leaf disease, which can also eventually kill the tree. However, the heavy spicing of the other Old J styles have been toned right down to allow the more subtle, un-aged white rum to shine.

Crafted in small batches from our pot still in the British Virgin Islands and aged in oak barrels for between 12 and 24 months before being blended with our special range of spices, Old J Gold is our pure, premium rum. The flavour and colour is far from subtle, but Old J Cherry’s rounded fruitiness also works brilliantly in a range of cocktails, like our very own Cherry Bake Punch, or simply mixed with cola. Old J Silver retains some of the main flavour notes of Old J original, keeping the smooth toffee, sweet lime and heady vanilla hit. Recognised with a Gold Award at the 2017 Rum Masters, it may taste like the original and smell like the original, but Tiki Fire is a different beast.

Old J Gold was the only spiced rum to be awarded the ultimate Master status at the 2016 Rum Master awards and is perfect with a mixer or in a cocktail. Now I’m going to share those serves with you to recreate yourself and hopefully inspire some of your own Old J creations.
