I teetered between 3-4 stars for the first 50% but when I got to 50% and literally nothing was going on between the two main characters I quickly realized how much I didn’t like this book.

Her moments with her stepmother and dad filled me with more emotions than the actual drama of the story. Paige Toon does it again, she can do no wrong in my eyes, her books are always like a warm hug to me. Seeing Wren and Bailey's relationship as sisters grow was such a lovely part of the story, as was their friendships with Anders and Jonas. i love the strength in wren in what seems a hopeless situation and anders is well just the man we all need.As feelings start to emerge, Wren is hesitant to move forward as she’s been left behind one too many times while Anders is harboring a secret and afraid to get too close to dealing with his past. After finding out her fiancé’s in love with another woman Wren travels to visit her father even though their relationship is strained just to get away from it all. I couldn’t help but feel it was a bit too convenient that they kept postponing it-but not as convenient as seeing other characters solving the main characters' problems. Ultimately the book is about love and healing, and left me feeling satisfied, definitely worth a read.

Their paths cross multiple times and when Wren decides to renovate an old Airstream, ( I had to look this up and it's a shiny steel camper van,) she finds at her dad's house, Anders wants to help her. When the two meet Wren is taken aback as she falls for him almost instantly, he displays a guarded amount of interest but keeps his distance why? It is sappy in all the best Nicholas Sparksy sorts of ways and will probably make a lot of people who have functioning human hearts shed some tears.Having enjoyed Paige Toon books before I was excited to read this one and not disappointed in the least. I know I will go back some day, if only to see them finding in each other the light they were struggling to catch on their own. Wren grew up, not trusting relationships, and now she's living with the man she never really knew, except for holidays and days off from life.

This unfolded like a real to life romance book, no unneeded drama, a slow burn which got its hooks into me.
