The positioning of the characters on the page and the use of space are an important part of what makes this adorable picture book work so well. Panda is supposed to be the "moral" guy here, who is pissed when people don't say 'please' or something, but he comes off as a huge jerk.Panda offers a series of animals his delicious-looking doughnuts in this picture-book from British author/artist Steve Antony, only to change his mind, when creature after creature doesn't respond as politely as he would like. A "thank you" would certainly suffice in this situation, and I don't see the point of teaching children that it's okay to be rude to somebody if you think they weren't the exact right amount of polite to you first. Age 0-3 Mr Panda has some doughnuts to share and offers them to a series of ungrateful and greedy animals.
