During a snowy day in Axle City, Crusher attempts to take all hot chocolate for himself but he accidentally sends it launching onto a faraway mountain, and Blaze and AJ are hot pursuit to get it back before Crusher with a little help from Gabby and their Monster Machine friends. With the help of a magical tiger statue, Blaze, AJ, and Stripes put their explorer skills to the test as they follow the trail to the fabled Tiger Treasure.

Blaze, Stripes and Starla become construction vehicles to rescue Crusher and Pickle when they build a tall tower with no way back down. Starla (voiced by Kate Higgins) is a purple pickup truck based on a lot generic, and more stubbier version of the then-new fourth-generation 2014 GMC Sierra (in 1500 Regular Cab Standard Box configuration), with the same generation Chevrolet Silverado wheel wells, a sparkly silver cowgirl hat, who is a roping expert and speaks with a thick Southern accent. Realizing they have to get across the ice bridges before they melt completely, the Monster Machines begin crossing them with the sun machine melting the ice behind them. But when Crusher tries to cheat using rocket skis, his plan backfires, blasting him off the racetrack and across Axle City. Blaze and the Monster Machines focuses on Blaze, an orange-red monster truck, and his smart, young driver, AJ. Blaze greets the viewers and explains that he and AJ are on their way to the Polar Derby, a special snow race in a snowy landscape.
