About this deal

We honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' continuous connection to Country, waters, skies and communities.

I think Revolting Rhymes is a very good book and if you like this book you would like lots of Roald Dahl's other stories. Did you think Cinderella married the prince and lived happily ever after, or that the three little pigs outsmarted the wolf? Dahl went on to create some of the best-loved children's stories of the 20th century, such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda and James and the Giant Peach. He presents alternatives to well-established events and alters characters to change the narrative, always with a surprising and pleasing ending. In this poem with gory twists, Roald Dahl combines the characters in the Three Little Pigs story with Little Red Riding Hood.Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs begins familiarly, but after the huntsman agrees not to kill Snow White, she takes a job as a cook and maid for seven former jockeys (the dwarfs). Besides that, anyone who doesn't want to "expose" their young child to the corrupting influence of this book because of that one word, taken out of context, is extremely unrealistic about what sort of language they hear/use when they are in the school yard! Sure to entertain and impress, Dahl has done it again with his wonderful wit and (somewhat) saucy language, which I still think straddles what would be appropriate for the age level to which this piece is geared. They can truly enjoy the fun of the reimagined fairy tales without any disillusions or disappointment. The current audiobook is narrated by Stephen Mangan, Tamsin Greig and Miriam Margolyes and has been available since at least 2014.

But being nearly two metres tall he found himself squashed into his fighter plane, knees around his ears and head jutting forward. It is a satire based book of poems for children, and was, as many of his works were, illustrated amusingly.Information on identifying editions is from Richard Walker’s “Roald Dahl – A Guide to Collecting His First Editions”. The “real” story, the one he is going to tell through the following seven stanzas, is much “more gory” than the fairy tale that has become popular today. His stories also brought him three Edgar Awards: in 1954, for the collection Someone Like You; in 1959, for the story "The Landlady"; and in 1980, for the episode of Tales of the Unexpected based on "Skin". A forma como faz críticas à sociedade, mete o dedo mesmo na ferida, naquelas coisas que já nem reparamos por cairem na normalidade.
