I Started This Long Ago, Many Times But The Threat Of What Was Behind Room 13's Door Always Made Me Stop. The characters interacted well, an convincing the reader was not hard, but we didn't get to see a lot of depth to them. For at the stroke of midnight, something peculiar happens to the door of the linen cupboard next to room 12. The novel centres around a group of friends on a school trip, who stay in a creepy guest house on Whitby's West Cliff.years of age because it horror and if littel kids read this they will be scared and they won't go to bed children from this age will love this book because if you staret to read it you can't waite to finish it. The character Fliss, goes on a journey throughout the book, I feel that her strength was always there, from the beginning, but her confidence in herself needed to come out. It does create a very good atmosphere, but I think there could have been more added to bolster the mysterious element of the story. I didn't like when Fliss had that drem about the room because I think it gave it away, but antherwise it was amazing. S. Fliss is one of the main charcters with her best friend Lisa, there are some boys which are in there to, I would say that they are likable because I liked them. The events were well written and constructed in such a way that they were easily followed, leading to the inevitable, obvious end. The story is predictable but I feel that it is more about friendship than the plot itself, as it is re-telling a well- know tale but more from the point of view of an observer rather than the villain or the victim.
