We celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories, traditions and living cultures; and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. Perhaps it was just because I set my expectations low, but I am EXTREMELY satisfied overall with my purchase and I know the content is worthy of 5 stars (or better! He's able in this series to create multiple different "worlds" and he does so in a way that everyone of these "worlds" feels very unique but also familiar.

The repurcussions of his capture and eventual escape are felt across generations of dreamers, and that makes up the crux of this story. Due to the negative feedback of others, I was expecting the box to be flimsy cardboard, but it is actually quite sturdy. This might lead someone to believe that the arcs in which he appears as a secondary character, aren't as important or interesting, but every arc is so interesting and so well written that it doesn't really matter if Sandman is the main character or not. Genre bending, mind twisting, beautiful, haunting, emotional, reserved, understated, and so so intriguing.

Giving this a generous 5 stars (although some parts are only 4 stars) because overall, the writing and art are of spectacularly high quality and Sandman is one of the must reads for anyone interested in visual storytelling, as Gaiman is the master at that.In addition to his comics work, Chris has provided artwork for publications such as MAD Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, and Playstation Magazine, and for companies such as Activision, EA Games and Def Jam Records.
