I’m looking forward to testing these out more in warmer temperatures where the EVA foam won’t be as stiff and the breathability of the upper can be taken advantage of. However, the entire midsole is made of Pwrrun+, an expanded polyurethane foam that’s more comfortable than EVA-based Pwrrun.

One thing that I did notice over longer distances, however, was the overlay across the toe box for protection would often push against my toenails. If your old Peregrines are looking worse for wear, you'll be able to slip right into the newest version without missing a beat, and this version is sure to win over some new converts as well. First, the lockdown of the midfoot provides the necessary stability for quick movements and turns required on trails.But when you start stripping down a shoe, something’s got to give, and in this case, we’re getting a little bit of fraying. The shoe is best suited to technical or loose terrain and would not be my first choice for firm trails or roads.
