I have to admit that it made me cry, their story is so beautiful and by definition a love for the sake of Allah.Exactly as is described in Mufti Menk’s foreword, the book transports you to the time of the Prophet (SAW). I personally have seen several Muslims who lacked basic knowledge of seerah, aqeedah, and Islam in general who took up these books under the false belief that they were somehow superior because they were unbiased. The Simple Seerah came up on my Instagram feed some time ago and that’s when I decided to invest in it. The language and writing style, aided with a few illustrations sprinkled throughout the book are easily to follow and understand.

A beautifully written book that I had bought, with hopes that it could bring me closer Allah swt and increase my understanding and love for our Prophet Muhammad PBUH. If the seeker of knowledge understands it completely then he will have no need of many other books of mustalah (the science of hadeeth). This can be disengaging for a younger or non-academic crowd who are often only engaged when information is conveyed in a more compelling, straightforward manner. I finished the book in a day, and I’ve never completed reading an Islamic book in such a short period of time whilst enjoying it.

In the first two centuries of Islamic history, sīra was more commonly known as maghāzī (literally, stories of military expeditions), which is now considered to be only a subset of sīra [2]—one that concerns the military campaigns of Muhammad. He also delves into many tangents on the side related to whatever he’s covering in that moment, it gets a little annoying sometimes but there are good lessons in them as well.
