TRI I3 and I3 Pros: My beloved I3s have been dethrone in my view, they are still good, but lack the resolution and presentation of notes the S12 Pros have. Big bonus point for the set of three termination plugs and, that’s rare enough, the mini catalog that allows you to check (almost) everything the brand has to offer.

The transitions from the upper midrange towards the lower treble region are relative smooth and controlled when I do listen to electro guitars or to soprano voices. Planar magnetic drivers are general known with their fast response, which is not an exception in case of the 14. It certainly balances out the sound of the S12pro and again that cohesion with a good decent bass punch certainly helps the cause for the S12 to be more versatile than most highly detailed IEMS. Very good imaging, soundstage, micro-details, holographic soundstage if amplified (needs amplification as it is quite hard to drive). Its large diaphragm aims to deliver strong and impactful bass and clarity through its frequency response.Single DD, hybrids, and pure BA IEMs were excluded from the comparison as the different transducer types have their own pros and cons. The upper midrange on the other hand is a bit more highlighted, extended and detailed when I do listen to the LetShuoer S12, while the 7HZ Timeless sounds a tad smoother and controlled in this area, which was fairly audible when I do listen to female voices or to violins, flues or pianos. Nozzle filters generally dampens the upper mids, lower trebles a bit and in doing so will usually bring better balancing. With a solid shell, good tips and an ear-filling design, the Letshuoer S12 Pro were excellent noise-blockers – which was to be expected. The cable has a braided design and the wires are protected by a stiff and PVC insulation that shows a very low amount of microphonic effect.
