About this deal

LONDON SE9 2EQ (i found a version with a sleeve but there "should" be on the upper lef side a logo from a youth magazine which distributes also records (TWEN) / but this logo is not there instead there is: A BIT OF ADVICE FROM JIMMY M. Everything seems to gel so great from Mick Taylor's astounding guitar work to Mick Jagger at his peak as a vocalist. Bitch" is their misogynistic Motown tribute, "I Got the Blues" the tip of the cap to Stax-Volt, and "Dead Flowers" their sincere parody of the gallows humor of AM radio country music hits. Mick Taylor already played on two songs on the previous studio album “Let it Bleed” but this time he was involved in the process of recording and was the reason why the band went into a more blues dominated direction. Treble is a little bright which means the brass and acoustic guitars sound really good but the bass is quite hidden .

Sticky Fingers is the ninth British and eleventh American studio album by the English rock band The Rolling Stones. V. RECORD" on the label, because the Promotone company was founded only a few months (in September 1971, exactly, in Amsterdam, Netherlands) after the album "Sticky Fingers" was released (April 1971). For their first full-length effort on the upstart Rolling Stones Records, the group decided to show just how versatile they were. Mick Taylor makes his presence felt in a big time way, as he churns out one of his most effective, yet understated solos during his all-too-brief tenure with the group. Mostly the same like here, but the Version i have, has a inner sleeve with the big Stones Tongue and on the other Side a black n white Bandfoto.StiFi music needs to be played loud, but the sound really suffers when you dial up the volume with this release. It will be debated until the end of time (or at least people giving a damn about rock and roll) which artists had the most impressive uninterrupted runs. The one curveball on Side One is the seven-minute "Can't You Hear Me Knocking," which boasts a riff nearly as incredible as "Brown Sugar," only to dissolve into a Santana-like jam that scarcely sounds like the Stones at all. My copy came nice and flat and well centred but had some odd marks which did not come out even after a VPI clean. The closer, "Moonlight Mile," may be the group's pop masterpiece, though the marketplace wasn't ready for the six-minute track at the time.

On the "tonghue site" there is on the bottom: SLEEVE PRINTED AND MADE IN ENGLAND BY GOTHIC PRINT FINISHERS LTD. Certainly Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen in the Seventies and the Beatles career would chart as would post-Pablo Honey Radiohead, but I'd lean towards the mighty consecutive four piece slugger that began with Beggars Banquet and ended with Exile on Main Street. I will also upgrade my record player and clean my records properly and update this review if it changes any of the skipping issues. I think this is a fault across a large batch of the pressing and they're now selling off the faulty ones dirt cheap. It is followed by one of the most affecting and compelling proto-power ballads in "Sway," an easy contender for the crown of "Most Underrated Rolling Stones Track. My favorite songs of this album are the hard rocking opener “Brown Sugar”, the rocking “Bitch”, the riff dominated “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking”, the happy “Sway”, the bluesy “Sister Morphine”, the final “Moonlight Mile” and the slow “I Got the Blues”.

I thought I had this version, but the label bottom rim text is: ROLLING STONES RECORDS, TM MUSIDOR N. The ninth studio album “Sticky Fingers” was a turning point in the long career of the Rolling Stones.

On this album Mick Taylor made his second full-length appearance on a Rolling Stones album (after the live album The Rolling Stones - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! The album is really a great album that I listen over and over again and the only title I skip when listening it is “You Gotta Move”, which is the only weak number on a great album in my opinion. Sticky Fingers lacks the stylistic unity of their two previous studio efforts, but atones for it with what is easily their best set of songs. As a cycle of songs, Sticky Fingers is all over the place, and doesn't cohere as well as similar genre-jumping records like The Beatles' Revolver or The White Album. Picked this up thinking I was getting the 2015 pressing (after reading all the horrid reviews of the 2020 AR 1/2SM).
