About this deal

The more he is around Gabe, the more noticeable it is that Gabe has this uncanny ability to get from one place to another in record time. Speaking of light, she sees colorful lights around people (auras) which overwhelm her when she is a child and help her know who to trust when she is older.

The Gift by Cecelia Ahern | Goodreads

I have read one other book by Cecelia Ahern just a couple of months ago and I was pretty disappointed. She is now published in nearly fifty countries, and has sold over twenty-five million copies of her novels worldwide.

El final me ha gustado, quizá la mejor parte de la historia, pero aún así me ha dejado una sensación de que no he terminado de conectar ni con la historia, ni con los personajes. Yes, the overall message is great but the outcome of this particular story is not something you want on your mind as you're trying to fall asleep.

Alice has a life changing experience when she is 8:years old, she realises she sees colours surrounding people, they vary as to what emotions they are feeling. Well not a check but the use of a clone instead to accomplish essentially the same goal as A Christmas Carol.I was totally immersed in this book with its unique storyline about Alice Kelly and her ability to see peoples colours.

The Gift, Cecelia Ahern. Book Review - Raisie Bay The Gift, Cecelia Ahern. Book Review - Raisie Bay

Im discovering I have a love for damaged female protagonists, whether it's down to nature or nurture I love these girls. We sat down with Cecelia Ahern to find out everything there is to know about her newly repackaged novel, The Gift. The character descriptions are so beautifully written, the grief, love, violence and ambivalence that people feel throughout their lives and which Alice sees and interprets as their colours battle against her desire for peace and solitude. Thank you NetGalley and Harper Collins for a digital review copy of this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review. Such a beautiful, evocative novel that I actually looked forward to reading each day (I’ve been in a bit of a book wilderness recently).

Behind The Books: The Gift - Cecelia Ahern

My only criticism is that the last part of the book is too fast but that's probably because I really didn't want it to end, I was completely absorbed. I felt Gabe was under developed and could have thrown in a couple of jokes just to make him more likable. Life has been so manic recently and I've been trying to get into a book on my Netgalley shelf but being a mood reader non were grabbing me. Despite some very dark subject matter, particularly involving Alice's mother and her younger brother, this was a delight to read. There are plenty of other holiday movies and books that read this way and many people love them, but I'm more of a guaranteed happy ending person- especially right now. Alice and her synesthesia make this such an interesting read, and as we follow her and see the impact this has on her life you can’t help but love her. Her descriptive prose takes us to the near distant past where a little girl is the middle child of a bi-polar single mother. Lou va învăţa cât de preţios este timpul şi va încerca să recâştige dragostea şi încrederea familiei.
